One of the interesting scenes we encountered during our trip was the religious ceremony that I called the Greek Mevlüd. Actually, I don’t know what the name given to this ceremony was, but it looked like our Mevlüd. I guess the priest read something like a blessing prayer. I will try to describe the scenery as best I can..
A newly opened coffee shop in Karditsa, tables lined up for cocktails and a crowd in front of it.. Suddenly the priests come, they said something in Greek, we didn’t understand. Then the ceremony started, and they were reading something from the book, scattering a bunch of mint in their hands. The crowd abandoned everything and began to listen to the priests. On the other hand, there was a cameraman filming the ceremony, so I stuck together and took pictures as if I was a member of the team.. here are the photos..
