You may think that we are late to prepare a Karaköy file.. However, the fact that we started to flock to the region cannot go back to the last 2 years, and even before that, “Should we go to Karaköy?” Considering that other intentions are sought under the question, we are actually not too bad in terms of timing.. Those who follow us especially on Instagram and Facebook know that we spend so much time in Karaköy that one of us is about to consider becoming a muhtar candidate.. Of course, we say this not because “My God, we are always in Karaköy, how cool and hipster we are”, but because it is a part of our daily life.. We like to be regulars. When we are caught in a place, we go there for months, get smacked on the neck with everyone in the place, even though we continue to explore other places, we somehow come back to that place again.. You will love us like this now. (If you know, you’ll love it)
There are lots of places and options in Karaköy, and it’s probably not even at its peak right now.. Obviously, things will get wilder in the coming years due to the investment made in the region.. When we looked at the ready big picture, we thought that we would like to go where and what features of which place we like to eat, while we are only at the beginning of the event.. You may not find every venue you are looking for in the list, because we have written the best ones in our opinion.. We do not like the places of Karaköy, which are popular only because of its location, take the energy of the people, and are full of people who get tired in November, sir.. Especially if their staff/owner has a confused face walking around and treating their customers like “whatever we do”, it’s unlikely.. If you didn’t find what you were looking for in this list, it’s very likely that this is the reason.. (except for the places we haven’t tried yet, of course) Here you go, from the best breakfast to the best cafes, from the best coffee to the most successful dinnerThe best places in Karaköy.
*Muhit
Kilic Ali Pasa Mescidi Sokak, which you will see when you enter from Fasuli, right across Tophane hookah shops, may be the most crowded and most popular street of Karakoy.. It can even be said that the situation becomes chaotic, especially on weekends, thanks to the spaces lined up against each other, and that the street turns into a metrobus after work.. And Muhit is right at the beginning of this street.. When you say it like that, you can say what should I do with the crowd. However, we can guarantee that it is one of the most peaceful places in Karaköy, especially if you can manage to go at a time that does not coincide with the lunch hour of people on weekdays.. It is wonderful to sit under the vine leaves in the heat of summer, accompanied by a slight breeze.. Take a good look around, it’s very likely that we’re in there somewhere too.
How to Go to Muhit? Enter by Fasuli, opposite Tophane hookah shops (I guess we should say old hookah sellers now) will stay on your left. It also has unquestionably the best outdoors in Karaköy.
Our favourite: Lemonades and toasts.
*Dem Karaköy
As Turkish people, we are sensitive about the tea issue. We do not give up when we find a good lot, we do not forgive if we come across bad tea! However, until recently, there were no more than 1-2 places in Istanbul that focused specifically on tea. Then Dem came, mists (we couldn’t prevent it) and tea, and managed to be the pioneer of similar venues.. We certainly do not praise Dem unnecessarily, because it has friendly staff who will help you to the end to satisfy your curiosity about tea and to decide which of the 60 types of tea you will choose, and all the teas we have tried so far have been really delicious.

How to Get to Dem? Enter Black Chicken Street across the French Pass and turn left.
Our favourite: Tirebolu Stream, Huckleberry Friend and White Melon. We also think that Dem is definitely one of the best breakfast alternatives in Karaköy, especially Cheese plates are surprising and delicious enough to make you want to sleep in it!
Dandin Bakery
We don’t know if it’s possible to see Dandin from the outside and stop without going inside, because he literally draws you in with his overly cute look reminiscent of cafes in Paris.. After sitting down, you should definitely try one of the desserts they prepare daily.. The blueberry tarts we tried recently made an ambitious entry in the list of the best desserts we ate in Karaköy, number 2, and we will explain the first one below.. Mostly pastries etc as this place is a “bakery”. Although it focuses on products, you can also find very tasty snacks and sandwiches.. It can be ideal for a lunch break.
How to Get to Dandin? Just as we described above, it will be on your left when you enter the street where Muhit is located and continue straight.
Istikamet Karakoy
Truthfully, we haven’t lived in Istikamet Karakoy for very long, we don’t know why.. However, one day we decided to try it and we came across a dessert with “passion fruit” that they were just trying, and we have been officially regulars since then.. Moreover, its coffee is delicious, its employees are friendly, and it is at a point where you can observe the people passing by and keep the pulse of Karaköy.. In short, you would like it if you knew it.
How to go to Istikamet Karaköy? Located on the French Pass, right next to Paps Italian and Mums.
Our favourite: Of course, desserts with passion fruit. (This is exactly the best dessert of Karaköy, which we mentioned above)
Sahi Karaköy
It was actually thanks to the 101 Taste Festival that took place this year that we met Sahi.. While 5-6 people were eating like crazy in different parts of the event venue (normal people were tasting at that time), a voice echoed on the walls of Sait Halim Pasha Mansion: “Guys, there is something incredible here, run!” Now, of course, you will say why they are telling this event like a hero story, but don’t say it, taste Sahi’s Turkish delight first, then let’s talk.. INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!
How to Get to Sahi Karaköy? Across the hookah shops, next to Fasuli.
Our favourite: Tüüüm Turkish delights. It is also possible to find original design products inside, don’t just focus on eating and drinking.
Karaköy Lokantası
A fixture of every popular region, an unspoken place respected by everyone. You know, for us and for most people, Karaköy should definitely be abandoned, Karaköy Lokantası. This is a place that deserves it until the end with its quality that has not spoiled for years, where meals are scramble at noon, sitting without a reservation in the evenings is a difficult process.. Moreover, we are sure that you can eat the most wonderful examples of Turkish cuisine here in Karaköy.. We don’t know if it’s possible that you haven’t tried it by now, but it’s late or not, at least throw yourself in here for a lunch.. According to him, we are not responsible for the white-collar employee population if you go at noon.
How to Go to Karaköy Restaurant? On Kemankeş Street.
Our favourite: There is no answer to this, because everything is amazing.
Dof Coffee
We have suggested all sorts of places so far, and all of them they had one common feature; Always crowded and noisy. But maybe you want to go to Karaköy but hang out calmly, immerse yourself in your book like a master and drink your coffee.. Don’t worry, it’s there. We discovered DOF late, but we love it because it feels like we’re leaving home and going to another home that makes better coffees.. Let’s add that it offers you a great working environment especially when you want to work outside.
How to Go to DOF Karaköy? It is located on Necatibey Caddesi.
Kağıthane
Kagithane has a sentence that sums it up very well; “You don’t need anything here, but when you see it, you’ll want to buy them all at once” Yes, it might sound like a bit too capitalist, but especially if you are a stationery lover, you can find everything about paper and paper here, so it is very likely that you will have something like this every time you go to Karaköy. You will look at it and say, “Oh, I bought a notebook again.”
How to get to Kağıthane? It is located inside the French Pass.
Selda Okutan Gallery
Selda Okutan Gallery, when there was no one else in Karaköy, the streets were in a desolate state, Karabatak people said “no, you can’t do that, sir, you can’t make it that way.” ” he was there when they were more like a cute little cafe. As soon as you see it from the outside, “What is such a beautiful place doing here?” He said, and there was a lot of people who came in just for this reason.. For those who haven’t heard yet, this is a jewelry design shop as well as a workshop.. Inside, you can find incredibly creative and original products by Selda Okutan, each of which has a different story.. So much so that since Steven Tyler stopped by here when he came to Turkey, there were many people who said that there must be something.. However, in our opinion, there was no need for this to be registered for the beauty of the designs.
How to Go to Selda Okutan Gallery? It is located on Ali Paşa Değirmeni Street, right next to Karabatak.
Paps Italian
Paps Italian itself is a small venue with a large function. Since we are lovers of Italian cuisine, we went here by thinking that we are Vedat Milor when we first went here, because we understand these things very well, and after we left unbelievably happy, we consciously coincided every time we went to Karaköy when we were hungry and started throwing ourselves here.. If you are in search of a place that makes successful Italian food in Istanbul, we say you have a good place, you should definitely try it.. We would also like to thank them for the extreme kindness of their employees.
How to Get to Paps Italian? It is located at the entrance of the French Pass, just between Mums Karaköy and Istikamet Karaköy.
