As you are aware, those who want to take their tourist business one step further than going to Paris and posing with a shopping bag in front of the Eiffel or having a photo taken as if they were pushing the Leaning Tower of Pisa show great interest in Scandinavia these days.. As you know from our post about places to visit here, while on the way to becoming a professional tourist, we turned our route to Stockholm after Helsinki and Tallinn.
“Paris of X or Venice of Y” Although they liken it to the “Venice of the North” like dozens of other places, because we love to go to the heights of creativity by using the “i” pattern, Stockholm is a city far beyond such clichés.. There are museums where you can spend hours, a layout where you can feel at the pinnacle of civilization, and beautiful coffee shops/restaurants where you’d want to go to another cafe every minute, even though it’s not known to most people.. I don’t know if it’s due to my personal ignorance, but since Stockholm is especially famous for coffee, I certainly wasn’t aware of it until I did some deep research before I set foot there.. That being the case, I would like to add to the beauty of your Stockholm trip by making a sudden decision to suggest a few restaurants/cafes for people like me.. Nybrogatan38
In Östermalm, the wealthy district of Stockholm, Nybrogatan38, a cute cafe with an area to sit outside, is definitely a place you can choose if you’re longing for breakfast with eggs and cheese, among foreigners (I can’t seem to stop my craving for Turkey when it comes to breakfast).. I vouch for the Egg Benedict of this cafe, which also offers brunch on weekends, and the kindness of its employees.
Urban Deli
At SoFo, one of the hippest areas of the city. Urban Deli, located in Istanbul, is both a small market and a cafe that can make you happy at every meal, including breakfast.. In addition to being one of the most frequented spots of the Stockholm hipster world, it is incredibly satisfying especially in terms of delicatessen products.. In my opinion, you should definitely make your way here in order to have a breakfast here.. Before I forget, you can consider making a reservation for this place, it can be very crowded.
Pelikan
Every time we go to Ikea, we lose ourselves because the food is cheap and make sure to take one of the 8 plates we buy. I won’t send you out of Stockholm until you discover the place where Swedish meatballs are best made.. Pelikan’s Swedish meatballs, which has been in existence since 1733 and is very assertive about Swedish cuisine, has already written its name in my personal history with golden letters as one of the most successful meals I’ve had in Stockholm.. Meatballs, which are much larger than those in Turkey, are served with mashed potatoes, lingonberry and pickles.. It’s so good that it can even make one say, “Oh, I wish I could eat Swedish meatballs” when feeling very hungry.
Östermalms Saluhall
Madrid or Saluhall, which I can more easily explain to those who have visited similar versions in Barcelona, can actually be described as a “gourmet market”. Although there is a large selection of delicatessen and seafood inside, it is also possible to find many restaurants covering Swedish and international cuisine.. A place preferred by both locals and tourists, where you can shop for food or eat your meal happily.. Especially if you like seafood, I think this is one of the places where you can find the freshest and most delicious products in Stockholm.. I think they like smoked salmon a little TOO in Sweden.. If you order wrong, you may have to eat 1 kg of raw salmon.. There was a friend of ours……
Riche
I actually hesitated a bit when I included Riche in my suggestion list.. Because the reason why I recommend this place is that it is a place that is frequently preferred by locals, rather than the taste of its food or drinks.. You can choose Riche in Stockholm, especially in the evening, in order to reset the sadness of “Oh, we’ve come to a place with tourists”, which is sometimes experienced in places discovered abroad.. Both the food and the drinks are so satisfying that you won’t have any problems.
Drop Coffee
Coffee shop boom in Södermalm just like ours in Karaköy You may experience confusion on the subject, considering that. For this, you can put Drop Coffee, which has been tested and approved by me, at the top of your list, if you are one of those who like to drink coffee at home, besides enjoying their very good coffee, you can buy the coffee you like and bring it from there to here.. By the way, let me tell you the truth, some locals are a little bit reactive towards this place, which they think is a bit “overrated”, but this does not change the fact that their coffee is successful.
Johan&Nyström
Johan&Nyström is one of the ambitious places in Södermalm both in coffee and tea business.. I am sure that you will love both the decoration and the coffee of this cafe, which has repeatedly won awards such as “The best coffee shop in Sweden” and “The best coffee shop in the world”.. You can also buy coffee at home from here, let me remind you.. As you can see, our faithful half in coffee is Södermalm.
Chaikhana
Chaikhana, located on Gamla Stan, the most central and touristic area of the city. , a “tea house” where you are likely to know correctly if you guessed from its name.. You can taste many different varieties by tasting tea on a menu consisting of different teas, you can drink your tea calmly in its very sweet environment, you can even buy your favorites and bring them to Turkey.. You may be a little confused about the prices, but I should remind you that this is the most touristic area of the city, so a tourist price is drawn.
