Warsaw Attractions, Best Restaurants

The fact that cheap flight tickets from London to Warsaw show us that we can go to Poland even for the weekend. gives his idea and buys our Warsaw tickets for the first weekend of December.

Departs in the morning on a warm December night London Stansed Airport to Warsaw Modlin Mazovia Airport We reach with a 2-hour flight.

THATS TO WATCH IN WARSAW, BEST RESTAURANTS

We can reach the city center from the airport with the express buses of the company called Modlin, with a round trip fee of 50 Zloty (approximately 40 TL). Although Poland is a Schengen country, its currency is Zloty (PLN). Since our trip is short, we never convert our money to zlotys, we can handle everything with a credit card.

Modlin buses drop us off at Palac Kultury-i Nauki called the center of the city. While on its slope, we take our photo of the Palace of Culture and Science, one of the important places to see in Warsaw.

1 – PALACE OF CULTURE AND SCIENCE (PALAC KULTURY-I NAUKI)

Poland’s The palace, which is the tallest structure, was originally built by Stalin for himself, but it was unfortunate that he could use it.. The Stalin Palace, which is structured around the center of the city, is open to the public.. 30 PLN per person for the 42-storey building. you can go up to the floor and have a bird’s-eye view of the city.

Warsaw gives us the impression of an eastern bloc country similar to Moscow with its wide buildings and streets.. It is difficult to find an underpass to cross the streets, to ask for directions, and to come across someone who speaks English.

Our hotel is within walking distance of this point. When we see the doner kebab in the window of the Ali Baba Kebap we stumble upon on the way, our eyes roll, we dive into Turkish cuisine before we get to know the Polish cuisine.. Are you the one who makes fun of people who eat in a Turkish restaurant when you go abroad?. Get it! Meat turns, butcher returns, one day the account returns.

Our hotel is fine, the rooms are renovated, it’s pretty cute. When I say we leave our belongings in the room and leave, we already came with two standard backpacks, we just lighten them.. It’s just 15:00 and it’s about to get dark. Like a joke. This time we take the tram, reach Warsaw old city center in 10 15 minutes. Since the city was destroyed in the Second World War, the old city center was later renovated.. So it’s not really that old.. 🙂 Anyway, we still like it a lot.

2 – OLD CITY (STARE MIASTO)

The old town square, which is included in the Unesco Cultural Heritage list, is locally named Stare Miasto’ Also, due to the approach of Christmas, there is a festive atmosphere, we are confused about which frame to photograph.. The children sometimes pop the bubble balloons of the bubble sisters, and sometimes they get on the glittering trains.. When they are happy, we are even happier.

3 – RESTAURANT PORTRETOWA

Tummy is starting to get hungry already. When we enter the restaurant PORTRE TOWA, which I have caught sight of on Tripadvisor, we feel as if we are visiting a Polish house.. The traditional dishes we tried are sour rye soup with sausage and eggs and the Polish version of ravioli PIEROGI. There seems to be no nation that doesn’t like to wrap the ground meat with dough and make it into a bowl.. 🙂

4 – NOWE SWIAT, RESTAURANT ZAPIECEK

After dinner, he wanders the streets of Old Town, which we can define as Istiklal Caddesi of Warsaw. Reaching towards NOWE SWIAT, we glisten along the street. We like the ambiance of the restaurant called ZAPIECEK, which also offers delicacies from Polish cuisine, from the outside, even though there is a queue at the door, we risk to wait, after a while we find ourselves in the sausages on the roasted onion bed and again > we find embedded in pierogies. Mmm, the pierogies here are even better. The restaurant also has a playground.. He says it’s done then, we say another beer. 🙂

We are tired of the road, you know, it doesn’t make the trip any longer, like we jumped on the tram we return to our hotel. The next morning, we have a pleasant breakfast in the stylish breakfast room of Hotel MDM. Sourdough breads are even available at hotel breakfast in Poland, we regret why we don’t have them there.

5 – LAZIENKI PARK

The starting point of our excursion route today Lazienki Park. In a huge forest area, trees, ponds, children feeding the swans in the ponds, squirrels, people who have left themselves in the arms of nature, even a huge palace at the bottom of the pond used for the king to rest in winter. This place is amazing…

After a long nature walk, we turn our direction towards the city center again. We listen to the revolt of children who are tired of walking, we take an ice cream and coffee break at Grycan Cafe, the best ice cream shop in Poland. We can’t pass without tasting the local delicacy, Rurka Z Bita Smietana ie cream cigar.

6 – RESTAURANT U SZWESKA

Walking around the old town square for the last time, posing with Santa Claus. The restaurant U SZWESKA near our hotel is also very popular.. Although it is a very big place, there is always a queue at the door.. We want to have our last meal here, too, when we sit down at our table, we feel as if we are in Bavaria, not in Poland. We sip our beers from giant glasses, bury chops, sausages, potatoes, whatever they bring.

There is also a children’s playground in this restaurant.. Also, an older sister makes us do cut and cut activities that we know.. We have difficulties in convincing children to come to the table at mealtime.. how nice. You cannot find it. We put on the Christmas hats they made together and say goodbye to U SZWESKA. Again, we board the MODLIN shuttles departing in front of the Culture and Science Palace and head towards the airport.

Although it gives the impression of a soulless eastern block country when we first see it, we love Warsaw as we get to know it.. A bit of Germany, a bit of Russia, very lively and exciting… Delicious tastes are etched on our palate, magnificent visuals are etched in our minds, we say ‘We did well and we came’. 🙂
