Europe’s best train routes; There is always a romantic side of the past, there is also the romance of the past in train journeys! Since we realized this, train journeys have a special meaning for us.

Especially in Europe, there are train journeys that take you to the tops of the Alps at once, or take you as far as the Arctic Circle in Sweden.. We sat down, researched and wrote Europe’s Top 10 Train Routes!

1-) Bernina Express, Switzerland – Italy

Bernina Express A legendary train from Switzerland to Italy that climbs the slopes of the Alps through tunnels and viaducts journey. Sometimes you climb to 2000 meters, sometimes you pass by the frozen lakes and enjoy the magnificent nature throughout the journey.

2-) West Highland Line – Jacobite Steam Train – Scotland

Don’t let the name fool you, this is the Harry Potter’s Hogwards train you know!

Fort William and Mallaig, the 265 km legendary train journey, which runs from April 22 to October 25, takes approximately 2.5 hours.. You will remember the ‘Glenfinnan Viaduct‘ on the way from the Hogwarts scenes in the Harry Potter movie!

The Flam train, which was selected as the first in the list of The World’s Most Amazing Train Journeys by Lonely Planet, sometimes goes over 800 meters and from time to time the magnificent Norwegian fjords.

Flam route is between the towns of Myrdal and Flam and you also pass through many tunnels along the way. If you want to reach Myrdal, where the Flamsbana train departs, by public transport, you can reach it in approximately 4 and a half hours by train from Oslo.. The Flam Train you will take from Myrdal takes 1 hour and you reach Flam at the end of 1 hour.

Oslo to Bergen takes about 7 hours by train and you can literally experience Norway’s lush nature from start to finish.. This journey, where you sometimes pass through fjords, sometimes over snow-covered mountains and lakes, is considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in Northern Europe.

7-) Centovalli Railway, Italy – Switzerland

This train line, which passes through the world-famous Hundred Valleys of Switzerland, runs between Locarno in Switzerland and Domodossola in Italy. While researching the legendary train routes in Germany, we come across Harz National Park, Germany. Then a photo of a steam train appeared and we were hit! What was this train, what was it? After a little research, we saw that this train was called ‘Trans-Harz Railways’ and that it went right through the Harz National Park, between the castles and through the forest!
