Persembe Plateau is located in Aybastı District of Ordu.. Persembe Plateau, which was declared a Tourism Center by the decision of the Council of Ministers in 1991, is 17 km away from the town of Aybastı.. Thursday Plateau got its name from the market established on Thursdays.. The meanders of Persembe Plateau are unique in our country.. I really haven’t found it anywhere else.

How to Get to Persembe Plateau /strong> It is the highest point of the Canik Mountains with an altitude of 1500 meters. You should follow the Aybastı signs after Thursday.. We climbed about 80 km. We arrived in Aybastı. After Aybastı, we went another 17 km.
Persembe Plateau‘s road is mostly asphalt, the rest is stabilized, damaged roads.. In fact, most of the kilometers we have covered in this journey are such broken roads with holes and holes.. We passed a sign that said “Welcome to the heart of the Canik Mountains”. We passed a settlement with houses. Finally we stopped on a hill with a tour bus in his private cars. Navigation was saying you’re here. He was telling the truth. Outside was blowing in the wind. We were looking for something thick on us. We wore fleece, tights, socks, whatever we found.. It’s August and we’re freezing.
And First Sight First Love, Here is the Persembe Plateau
Cotton cotton clouds in the sky, curved meanders, an unbelievably beautiful green, what a beauty.. It was like a fairy tale. It was like the desktop pictures we use on computers. It’s August, it’s a spring weather here, just like our heads. When I first saw the photos of Aybastı Plateau, I said that we must go.. Then, when time intervened, I forgot the photo I saw.. We were going to the plateau.
We would see smoky mountains and houses in the fog.. Aren’t the highlands always like this? What else could it be? Then Thursday Plateau gave us a big surprise. By far, this is the most diverse Black Sea Plateau I’ve ever seen.. Precise and clear.
We flew in a crazy wind and froze first. What we wore was not enough, we dressed in layers.. That hill we parked the car on was Crow’s Hill. After we walked down. I couldn’t go without going down to the meanders and storing the energy in that water in my body.. This must be the Teletubbies village. One will have plenty of time and will camp here for at least one night. Thursday Plateau is very suitable for caravan camps that do not need facilities.
Thursday Highland Festivals
Persembe Plateau dates back to ancient times.. For example, Evliya Çelebi wrote about the festivals held here in his book.. Every year in July, these festivities are still going on.. Can you imagine the festivities that have survived from Evliya Çelebi? Various competitions, concerts, wrestling competitions and even horse races were held during the festivities.
Thursday Highland Oil Wrestling Festival is one of the most active wrestling events in our country in terms of participation and audience.. Many wrestlers participating in the Edirne Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling also participate in the Persembe Highland Oil Wrestling.
There are Thursday Highland Off Road races.. BMany Off Road clubs participate in the traditional events held in the plateau every year.. It’s my ignorance that I haven’t heard it before.
We walked down the Crow’s Hill and tucked our feet into the cold waters of the meander. We breathe the fresh air. We took dozens of photos in its magnificent view. We rested on its lush green grass and parted reluctantly.. Our minds are here in our hearts. I note to my mind that; I will definitely come here and make a camp among those meanders and sleep under the stars.
