Fiji is an archipelago in the south of the Pacific Ocean, consisting of 333 islands, 106 of which are uninhabited, formed by volcanic activities 150 million years ago.. Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, the largest of the islands covered with tropical forests. The southern coasts of Viti Levu, on which the capital Nadi is located, are legendary.. Numerous exotic resorts are lined up along these coasts.
The coastline, starting from 15 km south of Nadi city and stretching towards the South Pacific, is called The Coral Coast and this region is Fiji’s largest on the mainland. one of the most popular tourist attractions. Among the many resorts lined up on the white beaches are some international hotel chains such as Shangri La Hotels, Outrigger Hotels, Warwick Hotels.. With mangrove forests, steep rainforest-covered hills and slopes, stretching sugar cane fields and stunning sunset views, Fiji is highly recommended for those who want to take a vacation.
The Coral Coast morning. After the night’s rain, everything is wet and smells like earth and trees.. Trees and other plants are quite bright in the sun because of their wet leaves.. In front of me is the coconut trees that exceed maybe 20 meters and the blue of the sea behind it.. After breakfast, I went for a walk to discover a beach.. Close to white sand and warm sea. I haven’t taken off my swim shorts for about 10 days.. All you need for a trip to Fiji is 2 t-shirts and a shorts.
One of the best activities in Fiji is canoeing.. For about an hour I paddled the shores of The Coral Coast and explored the environment and the sea.. I rowed in the sea with. I also toured Kuata Island by canoe and the underwater life and corals there were striking with their richness.. On these shores, the corals are more colorless and the number of fish is less.. Especially the sea stars were more here. The starfish, which are darker than the phosphorescent fuchsia fish and close to parliement blue, are about one meter below.
There are plenty of hammocks taken in the coconut trees next to the beach.. I went back to my room and took my book and settled in the one near the sea.. A few coconut trees stretched out towards the sea, almost parallel to the ground.. And on one hangs a very long swing.. A wonderful view. The objects in the images of tropical islands on those postcards are always in front of my eyes.. White sand, blue sea, green and lush green leaves, coconut trees, sun, hammock… It’s time for peace.
All of our customers are young.. and most Brits; easily recognized by their accent. Some activities at Beach House are paid and some are free.. Every day at 10:00 there is a “Jungle Trek” into the forest at the back and this walk takes about an hour.. The fee of 10 FJ$ is given to help the villagers.. At 11:00 there is a Snorkeling Trip ($15), going to Tadrawai Passage by boat. At 13:00, there is “Coconut Leaves Weaving Demostration”.
Again, at that time, anyone can ride on the beach ($25) or towards the forest and in the sea at sunset ($35) in the evening.. At 15:30, there are two cakes and free tea and coffee service that you can eat, sometimes more if it increases.. It’s enough for me to have lunch with jam and butter on the side.
Beach volleyball at 16:00. You can ski for free whenever you want.. If you want to buy dinner (15 FJ$), you state your name and choose what you want from the three-course menu.. Local Fiji beer Fiji Gold $4.75. Billiards, table tennis and darts are also free. One hour massage is 20 FJ$. I think the prices are quite reasonable.
Actually, when I travel, I have only one plan and that is no planning! I plan everything carefully and take a long time beforehand. Doing long research, mapping every place in the brain before you go, see or be there, I think sometimes reduces the excitement at first sight.. That’s why I usually make my plans roughly, they are only in my head as a template, and I shape them according to the characteristics of the place I go to and what I find.
I was going to stay at The Beach House for 2 days and move on to the capital Suva.. I was aiming to head north from Suva and go to Volivoli Beach. After The Coral Coast, my plans changed and I decided to stay here a little longer.. The hostel room I stayed at The Beach House resort is 35 FJ$ per night, including breakfast, and it’s quite reasonable.
All in all, a very enjoyable, cheap and real holiday. I prefer to spend my money on things that appeal to my brain and eyes, rather than spending my money on things that go into my stomach.. Seeing a new place, gaining a new experience, stepping into a new place is indescribable.
