Rize Ovit Plateau hosts magnificent festivals (Rize Ovit İkizdere Festivals) every year. 17 this year. The festivities are organized by the Ekşioğlu Foundation.. Don’t be so festive. Mustafa Topaloğlu, İsmail YK, and even Tarkan take the stage at these festivals.. Tarkan and İsmail YK were the most notable singers at the festival I attended.
When is the Rize Ovit Highland Festival?
These festivities usually take place in the first week of August. Lastly, it took place on 1-3 August.
Rize Ovit My Recommendations
- If you are coming by plane, don’t forget to spend your first day in Trabzon and its famous meatballs
- Ovit Plateau is quite cold if you go in summer.. When you land in İkizdere, the air suddenly gets warmer.. These sudden weather changes can make you sick.. Go cautiously in terms of medicine and clothing.
- Do not return without tasting the stuffed black cabbage with meat made from roasted and ground beef
- Visit the surrounding villages
- I couldn’t find a similar honey I bought here anywhere else.. Do not return without buying honey
- You can go to Erzurum İspir in 40 45 minutes from Rize Ovit Plateau.. It is a very small place, but its dry beans are famous all over Turkey.. You can’t stop by here while you’ve been here.
- Don’t be afraid to call the police when you see people pulling a car to the side of the road and seeing halay
Where is Rize Ovit Plateau? and How to Get there?
Rize Ovit Plateau at an altitude of 2640 meters is about 52 km from the center of Rize takes place. Rize is located on the road from İkizdere to Erzurum İşpir.
The closest airport to here is located in Trabzon.. From here, it is possible to reach Rize center in 1 hour for 13 TL with Havaş.. There are minibuses from Rize to İkizdere.. However, my advice would be to rent a car from Trabzon or Rize.. Between Trabzon İkizdere or approximately 90 km.

Rize Ovit Tunnel
The Ovit Tunnel is being built to shorten the road between Rize and Erzurum and to make transportation uninterrupted for 12 months.. The 12.6 km long tunnel is the largest in Turkey and the 4th in the world.. It will be the largest double tube tunnel.
