Rising value in tourism Mardin

Those who talked about Mardin, which has become one of the most popular tourism centers in Turkey in recent years, told such a story that Mardin and its district Midyat suddenly entered my travel route.

***

Siirt Pervari We set off from Batman under the leadership of Pervari District Cultural Director Kerem Zoktay, who came from Batman just to show us the region.. Plenty of foamy, salty and cold buttermilk causes all passing vehicles to stop to cool off in the hot sun.. Seeing the oil well alive for the first time in my life is a different excitement for me.

When we arrive in Midyat, we realize that we are hungry, and we enter a kebab shop.

I ate at a kebab shop in Adana. Kebab makes me uneasy from the first moment it comes to the table.. Soon my stomach aches begin. We save our Midyat trip for the return trip, and set off for Mardin with our car and my stomach ache.. We reach Mardin by taking a few different frames until the passing vehicles try to perceive what we are doing.

MARDİN

The legendary Mardin built on a hill. They call it Old Mardin. New Mardin, on the other hand, was established on a flatter area where the city continues to develop and modern buildings are located.. When the old Mardin was declared a protected area with a decision taken by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Board, a decision was taken to demolish the alterations made on the historical stone buildings and all the structures added later. themselves…

MARDIN MUSEUM

Mardin Museum, which is located in a historical inn in the very center of Mardin, draws attention with its well-kept and mystical appearance, although its content is weak.. But the cafes and coffee houses around the museum look pretty bad. In addition, the car park in front of the museum, which is in a chaotic structure, should be removed as soon as possible.

With my Museum Card I got from Van, I enter the Mardin Museum free of charge…

You can visit the museum with us. I am delighted by the large number of people who want to visit it.

Artifacts with ethnographic and archaeological value are exhibited in the museum.. Imagine how rich a wealth of artifacts can be reached, especially from a geography like Mesopotamia!

The limited capacity of the museum’s exhibition halls has caused the works to be kept in warehouses.

“Panic I learn the origin of the word “from the Statue of Pan in the Mardin Museum.”

As I leave the Adana kebabs, which I borrowed from Midyat, in the toilet of the museum, in the form of vomit while leaving the museum, I convey my love to the kebab shops of Midyat.

The Mesopotamian Plain from the garden of the museum, which is quite well-kept. We meet our guide Emrah while watching. Emrah, who said that she would agree to whatever we paid, is waiting for us at the exit of the museum.. We start walking up the streets of Mardin, step by step, step by step. We take lots of souvenir photos as we walk among them.. Emrah takes us to Syriac houses. We enter a large courtyard. Just below the courtyard, on a roof-like place, you can see the beds called “throne” where people prefer to sleep in hot weather.

People prefer to sleep on rooftops with the onset of heat in the Southeast Anatolian Region.

Stone molds used to make wine still stand in front of the large courtyard.. We knock on the door and enter. Although there is no air conditioning inside, the coolness of the air is evident.. The landlord comes to us and starts talking, telling us that he makes a living by making liquor and wine.

Mardin is one of the rare places where people from many religions can live together in peace, comfort and tolerance.. This tolerance is evident from the fact that everyone walks freely on the streets…

CHURCHES

You can’t go to church in Mardin, which has the most churches in Turkey after Istanbul.. Drawing our route, Emrah takes us to Kırklar Church.. The church built by the Assyrians in the 6th century was built in memory of two brothers who were killed by their fathers because they chose Christianity during the Assyrian times. It was added to the memory of Christian.

The first printing house of the region was started to be used in this church in 1889, and it continued its activities until 1957, taking the name Hikmet Basımevi over time.. Parts of the printing house are still exhibited inside the church.

As we leave the church and continue walking on the streets, we come across the magnificent view of the Mesopotamian Plain, which winks at us from time to time through the houses.. The flat and colorful image of this plain, where even the lights of Syria can be noticed at night, surprises people.

We are having a hard time even walking because of stomach pain, and we are having a hard time with the effect of the heat.

KASIMİYE MADRAS. /b>

The Kasımiye Madrasa is next. The madrasa, which has a view of the Mesopotamian Plain from its entrance, was one of the largest structures in Mardin.. A magical atmosphere prevails in a complex structure consisting of a madrasa, a mosque and a zawiya.. It is said that it was named after Sultan Kasım because it was finished by Sultan Kasım, but since it does not have an inscription, clear information could not be reached.

We continue our madrasah tour with Zinciriye Madrasa.. The madrasah, which was built almost in the same plans as the Kasımiye Madrasa, was called the Sultan Isa Madrasa.

We are wandering around with a large group of visitors again.

ULU MOSQUE

This time we are descending deeper into the city to see the Ulu Mosque, one of the legendary structures of Mardin.. Even though the uncle we saw on the road, who made clothes out of a mail sack, was astonished, the astonishment gave way to laughter.

There are multiple rumors about the Great Mosque, whose establishment date is uncertain.

It is a very important piece in terms of decoration and plans. The garden of the mosque, which is in this location, is full of people who come to pray.

Finally, we realize that we are tired after seeing the intricacies of the art of copper processing in the historical Mardin bazaars.

As the weather starts to get dark in Mardin, we take a breather before we meet the night. We are going to Mardin Teacher’s House where we will stay for one night.. After lying down and resting for a while, we will explore the night view of Mardin.
