Red Light.. Red Light.. In the middle of the lights, lively women are waiting for their customers behind the windows, there are many people who come and go, but the sad stories they contain and what you see in their eyes breaks your heart.
An embarrassment in the middle of the city.. At first glance, it may seem very beautiful, very modern to your eyes.. But when you consider the situation of the women who work there, or rather the women who were forced to work, you can understand why the public puts pressure on the closure of Red Light, even though it is a huge tourism and income source.. Red Light is not turned off, it is just moved out of the city, it is wanted to be forgotten or removed from view.. Nothing will change, the truth of the matter..
What will you see when you go and see: Women behind the windows (I have never seen a man), all kinds of sex shops, famous clubs and coffee shops among them. Let C tell the other details..
Well, we came to the most crucial place. ”Friend, what were you doing, did you go to Amsterdam when there were so many places to visit? Where did it blow from, Amsterdam?” to the answer to your questions.
As I mentioned in my previous article Let No Travelers Stay in Istanbul, everything came out of my friend Ali’s head.. He ingrained in our brains that the Red Light District will be closed, that it will be completely moved out of the city in 2012, that it should be seen with the eyes of the world before we die.. Otherwise, it was never in our minds to travel like that =). (He told so much and didn’t come himself, but it doesn’t matter anyway.)
When this is the case, of course, we went to the Red Light District with great expectations and imagination.. Coffee shops are great no words to say. All kinds of mushrooms, herbs, whatever you look for.. In fact, as you enter the streets, a dealer comes to you every 10 minutes if the coffee shops are not enough for you.. sex shop per step. They even have outlets =) After spending 1-2 days alone, you realize that Red Light is not a place where there are many Dutch people.. It’s like there’s no Dutch left in Red Light, especially after working hours are over.. We learn the reason for this from our host.. Many see this place as an embarrassment. They don’t have a say in coffee shops or stores, but most of the women are forced to work here as they are all over the world.. In fact, this is a great embarrassment not only in Amsterdam but anywhere in the world.
You can take photos in Red Light, but you will be beaten if you try to take photos of women
