How to get to Barcelona ?
After landing at Barcelona El Prat Airport by plane from Istanbul, there are two ways to get to the center.
City center is approximately 13 km. at a distance. When you leave the airport, it is possible to reach the center from T1 and T2 terminals by paying 5€ by Aerobus.
Before buying a plane ticket“Best Flight Search Engines” I definitely recommend you to take a look.
If you are a Turkish Airlines passenger, you can use the T1 terminal, and if you are a Pegasus passenger, you can use the T2 terminal to reach the city center by Aerobus.
Casa Batllo – places to visit in Barcelona – another crazy work of Gaudi
I went to the city center by changing lines with the metro, which is another alternative. I determined the line (line) and bought a metro card. This card, which you have the right to use ten times, is around € 9.95.
I can say that this way is more economical and it is very easy to reach La Rambla.. But there are many more options in this city.. So :

I have listed all the details and the places to visit in Barcelona one by one about my Barcelona tour which was a dream come true..
I even specified it as a route first, and then I explained the touristic places on that route one by one below.. How to reach, opening-closing hours and even the entrance fees, I wrote a crazy effort.. Roughly, Barcelona places to visit are map locations:

Finally, as you know, you can get daily cards in Barcelona, as in many European cities, and visit nearly 100 museums and important places for free or at a discount. .
Just as there is IAMSTERDAM card in Amsterdam, they also made something called “Barcelona Card” in Barcelona.
The prices are as follows:
- valid for 72 hours: 45 euros
- valid for 96 hours: 55 euros
- valid for 120 hours: 60 euros
If you are going to visit the places I have mentioned below for a fee, or even if you are going to visit museums and important places one by one, get this card. Otherwise, it will be more expensive if you pay for each entry.

1. Park Guell
Sir, I will now tell you the attractions I mentioned above as a route.. First, Park Guell, which is one of the furthest points in the city, will be our first stop, away from the center of Barcelona.
The Park Guell, designed by architect Gaudi for businessman Eusebi Guell, is a giant located on a very large land. It is actually an area with a park and a mansion in it.. However, this mansion could not be completed due to economic inadequacies.
It was bought by the Municipality of Barcelona between 1918-84 and made available to the public.
In many buildings in Barcelona, Gauidi’s There is his work in this structure as well as his signature.
As soon as I got to Park Guell, I was excited right at his door.. It was as if there was a house made of sugar in front of me.

I looked It makes me incredibly happy to discover a structure that I am impressed with at the moment.. I walked around Park Guell with this excitement and energy.
The first thing that excited me was the figures made of broken colored ceramics.. It was definitely very eye-catching.
Another thing that got me excited was the dragon-like lizard figure that you can see in the pictures, which is one of the symbols of Park Guell.
By the way, the park’s there is a single white house at the top, called the ‘Triassic House’. In the central main part, there is the hospitality hall with large columns.
The ceiling of the hall is full of eye-catching embroideries.. There is a 110 m long bench made with broken ceramics.. It is really impossible not to be impressed by seeing these beauties.
I can say that this wonderland with stalactites, columns, mosaic walls and fairy-tale houses is the most beautiful part of the city..
Picasso spent a lot of time in this park. If I lived here, I guess I would not leave this park and sit in a corner and read a book.
Of course, it is very crowded right now because it is a touristic area.. It is very difficult to find a quiet environment.
Where to go to Barcelona it is unbelievable that such a nice area is so close to the center.

By the way, inside the park there is a house called Casa Museu Gaudi there is. Gaudi lived in this house for 20 years. If you think it’s worth going in, I’m not very impressed.. But still you know. In my opinion, the outside and the park itself are much more beautiful.
How to get to Park Guell :
Park Guell, 50-55 minutes walking from the beach side of La Rambla located within walking distance. If you say let’s get lost in the streets, you know. But if you want to go by metro :
Get on from Liceu Metro Stop in the direction of L3 Trinitat Nova and get off at Vallcarca Stop. You reach the park after walking for about 10 minutes by following the signs.
Tickets are 9 € online, 10 € at the door. Definitely buy tickets online.. It gets incredibly crowded even in the evening.. You may not even be able to find a ticket.
If you take a guided tour, you can visit for 28 €, and after 18:00 in the winter period, you can visit for free..

2. La Sagrada Familia
I said Barcelona means Gaudi. One of the most important works of this very valuable architect, one of the most important works and never ending famous Cathedral, you cannot return from Barcelona without seeing it.. Its name is : La Sagrada Familia
La Sagrada Familia is an unfinished cathedral whose construction started in 1882.. Although Gaudi is dead, the project is still ongoing. It is one of the most important buildings in Barcelona and is visited by 2 million people a year.

3. Casa Mila & Casa Batllo
Another point among the must-see places in Barcelona is Casa Mila and Casa Batllo facing each other on Garcia Boulevard.
These two structures are among Gaudi’s most important works after La Sagrada Familia. Believe me, if you take a look at the buildings while walking on the road, you will instantly understand how Gauidi was in a different fantasy world.. so different. So special.
Casa Mila :
In Casa Mila, built by Gaudi between 1906-1970, the artist reflected the undulating sea and seaweed visuality on the front façade.. Casa Mila surprised me with its different visuality in the center of the city.

Gaudi’s creative design did not fit well with the aesthetic understanding of those years, so it was known as La Pedrera, or “The Stone Quarry”.

The building seems to speak a very different language from the world. It destroys all the forms we are accustomed to in our minds and drowns people in a sea of questions and curiosity in the face of an astonishing creativity. …
Already, among the Barcelona touristic spots, these structures have a very important place.. And they are shown among Spain’s famous places.

Casa Batllo :
Another original and fantastic Gaudi work, Casa Batllo’s exterior walls are made of specially painted colored glass.
Unsymmetrical and flat shapes are avoided, and the ceramic roof of the building is likened to an animal.
It is also known as the “House of Bones” due to its oval windows, stone sculptures and thin bone columns on its balconies.. When I saw the first bones, believe me, I did not know what to say in front of this imaginary structure.
Tourists form long queues in these unique structures, which are much more than a building.

4. La Rambla
If you ask me, “Where is the heart of Barcelona?”, I would say undisputed La Rambla.
La Rambla is actually a street.. It is approximately 1.2 km long, starting from the Statue of Christophe Colomb and almost to the Square of Catalonia; a crowded street with cafes and bars around it, where you can walk in the shade of trees

This street is crowded with workers who perform dozens of street demonstrations, tourists who are always noisy and busy enjoying sangria.. It is always crowded day and night.

Here in this crowded street, now 2 for you. I will tell you the important places to visit. Since we made the route from top to bottom, our first stop is :
5. Boquera market
This market, on the right on the way from La Rambla to the Columbus Statue, has stalls selling various fruits, dried meats, seafood and juices.. You can even buy seafood if you wish.
This is not an ordinary market, the stalls are quite eye-catching.
1.5 € in small containers in Boquera Market. or fruit salad. I finished my Boquera trip by buying a bowl of fruit salad while I was visiting.. In my opinion, this is one of the must-see places in Barcelona.

6. Christophe Colomb Statue
Let’s continue on our way from La Rambla . Walking through the crowd, I am moving towards the area where the sea is now.
I want to continue my Barcelona travel notesCristophe The Statue of Colomb. While walking from La Rambla to the port side, the statue standing in the middle immediately catches the eye.
The Statue of Colomb symbolizes the explorer’s return to Barcelona from his first trip to America.
This approximately 60 meters long The top of the statue is reached by elevator.. You can go to the top and watch the city from the top for 3 €.

7. Barcelona Cathedral
We are now moving towards my favorite areas in Barcelona.
Barcelona Cathedral, which has an important place among historical places in Barcelona , is a very impressive place. It has a nice atmosphere and is located in a very nice neighborhood.
Those who like Gothic architecture can admire this structure.. Because the Barcelona Cathedral was built with a very flamboyant design.
You can see the Barcelona Cathedral, which was completed in the 1400s, as you pass in front of the gothic quarter.. They even call this neighborhood Barri Gotic.
You may ask why they gave this name? The atmosphere of this neighborhood, its streets, shops, in short, everything was built in gothic style.. Here is the most important structure, this cathedral. Also;
While wandering around the Gothic quarter, you may notice the biscuit shops very close to Barcelona Cathedral.
Places to Visit in Barcelona
These shops with beautiful and various cookies, although a little expensive, are quite tasty and worth every euro you spend.
You can put the cookies you want in a paper bag or metal box. you choose yourself. There is a fee of 2 € for the paper bag and 5 € for the metal box.
I preferred the metal box because it is very stylish.. I paid 5 € for the box and 10 € for the cookies.. As I said, it’s a bit expensive, but if you come across it, I definitely recommend you to taste it.
8. Picasso Museum
Let’s continue with the Barcelona travel notes with the Picasso museum. The museum is located in the La Ribera neighborhood. By the way, this neighborhood is one of my favourites.. I would say that you should definitely take note of this neighborhood.
So, if you come all the way to Barcelona, would you ever return without visiting Picasso’s museum?
To a very large collection of Picasso’s first works. If you have time, I would definitely say stop by this museum.
Although there are not many well-known works of Picasso, there are many works worth seeing in the museum.
Barcelona is a beautiful living space with incredibly organized urban planning
A suggestion for you if you want to go: Get around early because there’s no queue it can be long. Personally, I had the bad experience of waiting 35 minutes in the rain.
- Picasso Museum entrance fee : 9 €. But it’s free on Thursdays between 18.30-21.30. In addition, it is free on the first Sunday of every month.
- Picasso Museum Visiting Hours: Monday: between 10:00 and 17:00; Tuesday-Sunday : 09.00-20.30
9. Parc de la Ciutadella
Now I say let’s get some rest and move on to quiet, peaceful places. Let’s run to nature and serenity. How lucky are we that one can find peace at many points in Barcelona !
Parc de la Ciutadella is known as the touristic park of Barcelona.. It’s impossible not to notice the magnificent park while walking anyway.
The park has a lake, a natural history museum, a zoo and a lush green area for you to visit.
One of the places to see in Barcelona You can also take a boat ride in the lake in the park, which has the greenest area.
At the Northwest entrance of the park, supported by Gaudi’s waterfall named “Cascada”, it was built in 1869. You see the equestrian statue of General Prim, who gave the order to sand the castle.

The water basin in front of the fountain is protected by winged dragons.
I definitely recommend that you go to this interesting park and spend time, take long tours in the park, or even take a boat ride on the lake.
Free admission to Parc de la Ciutadella. If you want to rent a boat, you pay 6 € for 30 minutes for 2 people.
How to get to Parc de la Ciutadella: From Liceu metro stop, take L3 Trinitat Nova direction and Zona Universitaria ‘ you are also getting off. Then you take the metro in the direction of L1 Fondo from Catalunya and get off after 2 stops.. Afterwards, you walk to L’Hospitalet de Llobregat for about 4 minutes and reach the Arc de Triomphe.
Or if you wish, if you continue walking from the Picasso Museum, you can reach the park from the west entrance of the park.

11. Port Vell, Barceloneta and Barcelona Beaches
Although architectural structures and urban layout come to the fore in Barcelona; Another important value is that it is home to wonderful beaches.
Here, in the area called Barceloneta, there are Barcelona beaches, restaurants and cafes.. By the way, almost all beaches are open to the public.. You can lay your towel on the floor and enjoy the sun.
In addition, there is a shopping center in Port Vell.. I recommend it for walking around rather than the mall. Like the beaches. full bike ride. Have fun.
There is even a casino in this area.. Its name is Casino Barcelona.
Accommodation in Barcelona is 15 Euros per person per night.. I listed them all as a list from From this Link.
After passing the casino, Nova Icaria Beach; Bogatell and Mar Bella beaches are coming. This region is the place I recommend especially for beach and sea lovers to stop by.
After visiting this region, I now want to go to the opposite region by cable car.. There is a hill called Montjuic. Here you can take the cable car from Barceloneta to Montjuic. You both enjoy the view and save time. They call this cable car Port Cable Car.

12. Montjuic Hill
It is very pleasant to go to Montjuic Hill by cable car. If you want to cross this route on foot, it will take about 1 hour.. I prefer to go by cable car. That’s why;
I want to continue with the places to visit in Barcelona with Montjuic Hill. This hill is a very beautiful spot from which you can watch the city from above.
You can visit the gardens and parks on Montjuic Hill (Jewish hill).. This area is very, very big.. I only wrote the title as a point, but believe me, if you visit every place one by one, half a day or even 1 day is enough.
I thought I’d go to Montjuik Castle first.. I wanted to see the city from the top, as well as to learn the history of this beautiful castle because it is well preserved.. I’ve officially lived that historical spirit.
Mountjuic Hill : Places To Visit In Barcelona
After crossing the bridge, I took a broad view. courtyard welcomed. From there, I went to the top of the castle where I could watch Barcelona from a bird’s eye view.
At this point, the city is under your feet and offers you a magnificent view.. In my opinion, if you want to understand a city, you must go to a high point and try to see the places you have visited one by one.. When I do this, the maps in one’s mind begin to settle much more comfortably.
Afterwards, I continued on my way down from the very imposing end of the castle, walking through the parks and getting lost.
Barcelona. in touristic places this is a nice place to take panoramic photos.
Also very close to Montjuic Olympic House. You can also choose to get off by visiting the surrounding area without paying any more money.
Transportation to Montjuik Hill :
Take bus number 150 from Poble Espanyol or L1 -You can make a metro – funicular by using one of the L2.
As an alternative, you can take the cable car I mentioned above.. I chose the cable car. You reach Castel by seeing the city panoramically.
13. National Museum of Catalan Art
By the way, right behind this hill is the famous National Museum of Catalan Art. Already from the outside, “There is a definite event here.” A structure called a building greets you.

Spain’s You can catch great events where you can see thousands of artifacts collected from all over the world, and even exhibitions if you are lucky.. You can visit the whole museum very comfortably in about 2 hours.. In my opinion, it is one of the must-see museums.

- Entrance Fee : 12 Euros. If you want to see Barcelona from the rooftop, you have to pay 2 Euros more.
14. Poble Espanyol
Poble Espanyol, which I had fun visiting, is a cute open-air museum where houses from different parts of Spain are exhibited.. To me, it’s like this place isn’t Barcelona, it’s a completely different place.. Because it is very, very different.
You can feel the spirit of Spain in this village, which was built in 1929. Two-storey tiny houses and charming streets are very impressive.
There are cafes, restaurants, contemporary arts museum, souvenir shops, organic chocolate shop and liquor stores in the village.
I first found myself in the chocolate shop. There were various kinds of chocolates on the hangers on the shelves of the shop.
You can taste the delicacies served in front of the cash register and buy what you want from the hanger.
Poble Espanyol Streets: Places to visit in Barcelona
Every flavor was delicious, but I loved the one with white chocolate-blueberry. And I immediately bought a small chocolate bar for €15.
The acorn liqueur I drank at another shop was fantastic..
I don’t want to miss the 5 meter tall lemon trees on the streets where these beautiful buildings are located.. I would say make sure to have a photo taken in front of these trees whose branches are full of lemons.
Poble Espanyol has the Contemporary Art Museum, which is included in the entrance fees, and exhibits the works of Dali and Picasso..
I would like to briefly talk about Dali and Picasso, whose works are in the museum:
Salvador Dali :
- who lived between 1904-1989 one of the leading painters of surrealism…
- Born in Catalonia, Dali claimed to be descended from the Moors who conquered Spain in 711.
- He has produced more than 1500 paintings, countless sculptures, book illustrations, lithographs, theater decor and costumes.
- Dali is noted for his extraordinary lifestyle, works and personality. He is a painter who draws attention.
- He is not an artist to be forgotten, especially with his mustache, which is in our memory.
Pablo Picasso :
- Picasso, whose father was also a painter and art teacher, was 20 years old.. one of the best painters of the 20th century…. Cubism is also the transfer of a 3D object in space to a 2D surface.
It was a great feeling for me to closely examine the works of such prominent painters.
After visiting this beautiful museum with different works, I took a coffee break in one of the cafes here.
It was as if I felt like I was in a remote village, not in Barcelona. In Pablo Espanyol you are both traveling, having fun and relieving all your tiredness.

Finally, let’s talk about the salary of Poble Espanyol.. There is an entrance fee of 12 € if you buy at the box office. There is no big difference when you buy it online.. Therefore, you can choose to buy it from the box office.

From La Rambla Liceu Metro Station, take L3 Zone Universitaria 4 stops later, Poble Espanyol if you are getting off in. If your steps are fast, you can reach Poble Espanyol in 10 minutes.

15. Camp Nou & Barcelona Museum
If you are interested in football and you follow Barcelona players, I suggest you spend 3 hours at Camp Nou.. In fact, if you have the opportunity, I would say watch at least 1 match of Barcelona at this stadium.
As far as I know, Deniz had watched El Clasico, the Barcelona-Real Madrid derby, here and he was still telling it in his mouth.. How fun it is now !
Camp Nou : Places to visit in Barcelona
Anyway, let’s not digress and continue our trip. I don’t understand how time passes here. I had a lot of fun walking around the stadium, visiting the press tribune and taking pictures at the stadium.. After I had a nice walk around, I went to the museum.
The museum exceeded my expectations.. Let me tell you, everything from the oldest football boots to the jerseys that will excite you is preserved like a precious jewel in this museum.. I immediately took a picture with Messi..
They also translated the anthems of Barcelona into several languages.. I noticed that it was translated into Turkish by chance and I listened to it.. Believe me, I didn’t want to leave the museum, it was so beautiful…
If you want to experience this beautiful atmosphere in the museum again and again, you can find many items from the store that you can buy as a souvenir for yourself.
A bit expensive. But if you’re a fan, why not?. I didn’t shop here because I found the prices a little low.
For example, Barcelona jerseys were sold for 90 €.. My friend’s wife bought a raincoat for 110 €. When I thought about the numbers that the Euro is crazy these days, I left the museum thinking that the best thing is to continue on my way.

Barcelona Museums Transportation: You can reach Camp Nou after 8 stops from La Rambla Liceu in the direction of L3 Zona University, get off at Les Corts and walk for 5 minutes.

Bonus : Additional Barcelona Vacation Tips for Those Who Have Longer Time
- There is a famous church on the Tibidabo hill at the foot of the Collserola Mountains. Completed about 120 years ago. I recommend this place to those who have more than +3 days. Getting there: First, take the S1 train to the Peu Del Funicular stop; From there you can take the Funicular to the top.
- There was the Barcelona Aquarium on the beach.. I didn’t go but if you have time I recommend it to you. Entry fee : 20 Euros
- I suggest you watch a show at the Opera House of Liceu. The tickets were sold out when I left.. Maybe if you are lucky you will have this beautiful experience.. Tickets average 10-20 euros.
