C segment sedans always attract attention in Turkey. One of these cars is the Opel Astra.. I recently tested the New Opel Astra Sedan 1.4lt Turbo ECOTEC 140 HP version.
About the Opel Brand
The automotive industry in the USA was most affected by the global crisis that broke out in 2008.. While the fate of America’s three automotive giants, General Motors (GM), Chrysler and Ford, was being discussed, a brand in Europe was following these discussions very closely.. What would become of GM’s brand in Europe, Opel, was a big question mark.
First Canadians buy, then Fiat, while Opel stayed with GM.. Parallel to the recovery of the American market in this period, Opel also started to recover in Europe.. The Insignia model, which was launched at that time, showed the brand’s new design language.. Astra hatchback followed Insignia. With these two sexy models Opel started to gain power. What We Didn’t Like? Much more advanced multimedia in many cars now It has systems
How Economical? The intercity performance of the car, which consumes 8.9 liters per 100 km in the city, is 5.2 liters, and its average fuel consumption is 6.6 liters

The design language applied in the Insignia and Astra hatchback has been used very successfully in this car as well.. Even at first glance, the car gives you a more compact Insignia perception. It’s no exaggeration to say that this car has one of the most assertive exterior designs in its segment.
The quality of materials used inside the new Opel Astra sedan is also quite impressive.. You feel like you are in a premium car. It should be appreciated that the Astra sedan attaches importance to the material quality at a time when many premium brands have started to compromise on material quality in order to cut costs recently.

Of course, we did not miss some flaws in this car.. For example, we noticed that some materials were compromised in the trunk, in areas you can’t see if you don’t bend over.
- All wiring is clearly visible in this area.
- In addition, another element that does not fit the premium perception of the interior of the car is the multimedia system.. Now even in small cars, car manufacturers use multimedia systems with much smarter technologies.. The multimedia system could be much better in a car that offers such a premium perception.

New Opel Astra Sedan 1.4 lt Turbo ECOTEC 140 HP driving dynamics is very satisfying.. For a C sedan, the 1.4 liter petrol engine certainly doesn’t grin.. The 6-speed Active Select automatic transmission also does not disturb the transitions.
