Mostar Travel Guide

The most emotional stop of the Balkans Road Trip route, which we set out with our own car in the summer of 2017, was Mostar, the city of Bosnia and Herzegovina full of tears.. During our Mostar tour, we were fascinated by the greenery of the Neretva River flowing under the Mostar Bridge, and we were heartbroken when we saw the bulletproof buildings of the city.. Let me tell you what we did for this visa-free travel that makes you feel very different emotions.. Mostar Travel Guide is with you..

After 2 days spent in Dubrovnik, Croatia Dubrovnik – Traveling between Mostar for 2.5 hours, we threw ourselves into our old lands.. We couldn’t get rid of one lane along the way, and we were lucky to have an accident on that one-lane road, so we came from the mountain roads.

Bosnia is a cheap country as you can imagine.. Moreover, visa free. Currencies are Mark. When this is the case, the trip to Mostar is a good one.

We couldn’t go to Sarajevo since we traveled almost 3000 km during our entire trip and Mostar was on our return route.. But if you are going to Bosnia and Herzegovina by airline, you can rent a car to reach Mostar after landing at the airport.. You should definitely add Mostar to your Sarajevo trip.

We did not have the opportunity to stay in this city where you can spend 2-3 hours.. But when I did a review, wondering if we should stay, I saw that there are many hotels for 20-25 Euros per night.

As you enter Mostar, you can see Stari Most, which means Mostar Bridge in Bosnian. follow. If you are going to be in Mostar in a limited time anyway, you will spend all your time in this region.

The bridge connects the lives of the Croat and Muslim peoples living on both sides of the river.. Today, Croats live to the west of the river, while Muslims live to the east.. The Serbs who left the city during the war are mostly no longer in Mostar.

The Mostar Bridge, built in 1566, was built by Architect Hayrettin, a student of Mimar Sinan.. Of course, the original bridge we are talking about here. The bridge we see now was built later.. Why?

Mostar experienced all the brutality of the war during the disintegration of Yugoslavia.. The bridge was destroyed by the Serbs in 92 and the Croats in 93.. It was later rebuilt through UNESCO and the World Bank and included in the heritage of conservation.

Buildings in Mostar were riddled with war bullets and people still live in those buildings.. We had goosebumps.

While we were there, swimmers were jumping off the 24-meter bridge that grooms used to jump to prove themselves.. Everyone burst into applause.

Listening to the words “The Bridge of Mostar has collapsed, who knows how sad Neretva is” in the song “You Must Live” by “Cloudsizzle”, watch on the bridge. diving was a great experience. May the world peace be with us all!

Eating and drinking in Mostar

Having a long chat under the bridge in Mostar, passing close to falling over the slippery stones of the bridge, two After visiting the side, we felt that we were hungry and sat at the restaurant called Tina-İrma.. The wifi password here is Irma-tina. We were left without internet because our GSM operator had an agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.. Don’t stay

We sang shish kebab and answer at Tina Irma. The food was both delicious and I liked the local beer of Mostar that we drank in this place.. Even my older sister, the waitress, gave me 1 as a gift! By the time we got up, all the meat was gone, and only chicken was left for our next customers.. Imagine what a popular place. In the account, a total of 13 Euros came for two people.

Although Mostar is a city with a high Turkish population, you are establishing a bond with your old lands there.. Say hi to the green of Neretva for me..
