LYON ECONOMIC TRAVEL GUIDE

Gastronomy city in the bosom of the Alps…

France’s 3rd. its big city Lyon, Paris and COTE D’AZUR- a little bit in the shadow of the French Riviera. But especially those who know the French Alps know how important Lyon is in eastern France.. Also, football fans are familiar with the island because of the successful Olympic Lyon Football Team.. Of course, we are its fans, and we even went to the match.

Located in the Rhone Alps region of France, where the Saône or

Rhône Rivers pass in the center of the city, Lyon, as the name of the region suggests, is where the influence of the Alps is felt. It is a city.

Let’s say in advance that this article will be a bit biased.. Because for us, Lyon is a city that we know before, from Paris, where we have lived for a long time, and that has a lot of work on us.. The closest major French city to our village, Oyonnax (for those who do not know, it is the village where I was born and spent my childhood) (Because Geneva is closer to Oyonnax in kilometers). It is actually a place where we say “I am going to and from a city”… Before writing this article, we remembered how few photographs we actually had.. How many Istanbulites have a photograph of the Dolmabahçe Palace? However, we do not pass by anyone… And even while doing preliminary research with Lyon, we learned that French cuisine is the heart of it and that its name is mentioned with French gastronomy.

Lyon is the most central, touristic and big city of Eastern France.. If you want to get your fill of history, local life and the Alps in Lyon, which is also known as a cultural and innovation city, we recommend you to stay for at least two days.. We fit our tour plan in 1 day. Well, time is money.. But by following our Lyon itinerary, you can pause at one point and continue from where you left off the next day.. So we allow it.

Weather in Lyon: It is cool and frosty with the influence of the Alps. Even though the winter is not so harsh (the Alps cut the cold a bit), it is cold. Actually, you can think of it like Istanbul.. The only difference is that it is very common to see snow in winter.

Budget for Lyon: Considering that France is an expensive city, the budget should be a normal European city x 2. Don’t say you’re not in Paris anyway, Lyon is not inferior.

Ideal time to go to Lyon: You can ski in winter and visit the sights of Lyon in spring or summer. We recommend you to go in the summer.

Now experience the privilege of reading Lyon from its local, sir… Here is Lyon, the gastronomic city in the bosom of the Alps..
