Ljubljana Travel Guide

Ljubljana, the tiny capital of Slovenia, a tiny country. How is it pronounced? Lyublyana I don’t know if this city is the Green Capital of Europe, or if it is one of the bustling streets, but I think it’s a city to live in.. It is quite cheap compared to Europe, but after breaking away from the former Yugoslavia, it has moved away from being a Balkan country. It is a city with a mixed culture, which has a high level of prosperity, where families with children can easily live in sociality, and is highly influenced by its neighbors Croatia, Italy and Austria.

To watch my Ljubljana & Bled Travel Vlog and subscribe to my Youtube:

Transportation to Slovenia is easy but unfortunately not cheap. Because only THY flies to Ljubljana, so you do not have the opportunity to find suitable tickets every minute.. So lie in wait for the campaign period. I guarantee it will be worth it.

If you happen to be in the ticket chase race and you come across in the spring months, it will not be eaten.. We travel without saying snow and winter, but I think spring months are a different pleasure here.. Fortunately, we made this trip in May.

For transportation from the airport to the city, you have to choose between shuttle and bus.. While the shuttle is 8 Euros, the bus is 4, so if the bus times match, you can take the bus from the stop at the airport exit and say hello to the beautiful city in 45 minutes.. This is a tiny little city.. You can walk everywhere in the center in 1 day, and on the 2nd day, you can know every inch of the city.. If you wish, you can also take a bike from the bike rental places you can see everywhere.. If you want to reach Bled from Ljubljana like we did, which you should do, you can either rent a car or take the bus according to your route.

If this trip will only be for the weekend, you can also travel by bus, but you can add Bled to your route. with a tight schedule and a car, you can diversify the route in the form of Bled – Bohinj – Vintgar Canyon – Triglav National Park – Slap Savica Waterfall. If you have rented a car, Austria Graz or Hallstatt or Croatia Zagreb may be destinations that can be included in your route.. When we tried to rent a car, when we learned that the insurance was too much because we were going to change the country, the account in our house did not fit the market.. You already know because they don’t give information when you don’t ask.. If you have a problem in a country other than the one you rented, the insurance does not cover it.

You can click here for the article that will help you plan your trip, which I also told about renting a car.

Bled. Let’s take you here for the Travel Guide.

Where to Stay in Ljubljana?

I want to have a laugh here guys! Because smart Story has arranged two different hotels for this tiny city for a two night weekend trip.. I actually booked one night in Ljubljana as I was thinking of staying in Bled for the second night of the trip.. When we changed our mind, there was no room left in the hotel, stayed at the other hotel for the second night.. This has also been added to my lines as a new road story

The hotel where we stayed the first night Hotel Emonec was a hotel that we were pleased with, 2 minutes away from the famous Preseren Square.. We paid a total of 87 Euros per night.

For the second night, we stayed at Hotel Mexico City, which is around Metelkova, which is a relatively out-of-town spot but still a 15-minute walk from the center.. We had a shock here too because they gave us a suite even though we rented a cheap room.. The hotel room was the size of our house! Well, we’re stuck with the spread. We paid a total of 97 Euros per night for this hotel and ended our accommodation adventure.

Places to Visit in Ljubljana

We start our tour of the city from Ljubljana Castle.. Viewpoint as Ljubljana Castle is located at the top of the city. To watch this city full of trees scattered between buildings from above, you need to go up by cable car for 2.2 Euros.. I think the sole is the best method on the descent.. Have you released yourself from the path, you are in the city in 5 minutes. By the way, there is a puppet museum in the castle.. The museums are over, the puppet museum is probably missing. We continue our journey by saying good luck and civilization.

By the way, a market called Open Kitchen is set up on Fridays between March and October, right across the cable car.

When you go downhill, go up to Preseren Square. This is the city center. This square is named after one of the famous poets of Slovenia, France Preseren.. Do not ask if it will be a pink church, I swear it is very beautiful. Since the Franciscan Church is in the central square of Ljubljana, you can have a lunch, like we do, by getting your salad or sandwiches from the markets or cafes, and observing the people under this church.

When you take a walk in front of the church, you will come across an unusual bridge over the Ljubljanaca River.. This is the Triple Bridge where three bridges meet. The purpose of the famous architect of this bridge, Jose Plecnik, in the design of this bridge was “to allow the tram and vehicles to pass comfortably and pedestrians to walk safely.”

Congress Square is the wide area where the University of Ljubljana is located. square. While walking by the river, enter all the streets left and right and see lots of squares and buildings with beautiful architecture.

A classic of every European city is the weekend in the city center where people can socialize, relax, have their lunch, do yoga or exercise and ride a bike. Being a park where you can have a pleasant time with your children. Tivoli Park is Ljubljana’s green garden. It is so beautiful and peaceful inside that the smell of the trees remained in my nose.. I left with care. Green makes people happy.

What do you think is the symbol of Ljublana? The answer is in Dragon Bridge.. It is believed that when you touch the dragons on the bridge, you will come back to this city.. We also touched dragons and crossed the Dragon Bridge to Metelkova.

Metelkova, former military barracks area untouched by the Slovenian government after Yugoslavia’s withdrawal from the country in 1991.. 200 young activists, painters and artists come together and occupy this area, filling it with graffiti and bringing the region to life.. It’s so beautiful right now.. It’s like illegal, but since it attracts crazy tourists, the state does not interfere with the area where these bars and galleries are located.. Each wall tells different heads. At night, it is filled with places to hang out.. A very different face of Ljubljana. We wandered around and examined these works.. And we stumbled upon live drawing by chance.. Oh, there’s none of us better.

What We Ate in Ljubljana?

Pop’s Burger: Here both the California Classic and the mini Burger I ate and tasted beer. Burgers were delicious, beers were amazing. Prices are also very affordable. You can eat for 7-8 Euros. Also, our race to grab a table by the river was successful and we sat at a table like a cillop in this place.. So what happened next? In the hot weather, crazy horror rain poured in. Well, we had a lot of fun!

Verace: Awesome ultra super super pizza.

Ljubljana’ I left with a big smile on my face. I loved it very much. I believe it is a place where everyone should make it to the European list. Give this little city a chance!
