After having our breakfast on our second day in Kos, we went down to the port to drink the famous Greek coffee and take in the sea air.. We planned to sit in one of the cafes, spend some time, and then go to one of the beaches beyond the port.. However, we suddenly found ourselves on a boat tour…
I had read how beautiful boat tours were in my research before I came to Kos island.. However, I ignored it even though it was inside me because the boat was holding me.. While walking in the harbor, a boy who wanted to give information about the boat tour and showed us the idyllic bays changed our minds.. Who knows when we will have the opportunity to see it again, we said and threw ourselves on the boat…
Our route was Plati Island, Kalymnos and Pserimos, also known as aquarium bay.. The price of the tour, which will last from 10.30 to 17.30, is 25 Euros.. Lunch consisting of chicken skewers, haydari-like appetizers and salad, and ice-cold watermelon service in the evening are included in the price.
Although it was August, the weather was very windy for our luck.. Turgutreis was greeting us with its white houses while the boat was rocking from side to side.. Turgutreis is very close not only to Kos but also to other islands.
Our first stop is Plati Island, which is famous for its glassy sea.. As soon as the boat anchored, we left ourselves in the waters.. The cleanness and clarity of the sea was admirable.. I don’t like cold seas, the sea water temperature of the 3 islands we went to was just for me.. We enjoyed the sea to the fullest without getting cold.
After staying on the island of Plati for 45 minutes, it was time for lunch.. The meals were very filling and delicious.. Soft drinks are not included in the entrance fee, but the prices are very reasonable. You can drink any beverage you want for 1-2 Euros.
When we set sail again, that harsh wind was gone, and instead of it, it felt like candy.. Our second stop, Kalymnos, is among the most inhabited of the Dodecanese islands.. Kalymnos, also known as the sponge island, has been the center of sponge diving since ancient times.. Sponging still continues, although not as much as before.. We also get one of the sponges that are lined up in length.
Kalymnos is a barren and mountainous island.. Due to this feature, it is one of the famous climbing routes in Europe.. It turns out that this cute island is a frequent destination for adventure lovers.. We used our right to stay for 1 hour on the island a little bit, the sea a bit to explore the environment and we loved the tiny pensions, taverns and shops by the sea.. In my opinion, one of the islands to escape to for a few days to relax while in Bodrum…
Our last stop, Pserimos, is known as the Goat Island.. After enjoying the sea here, we set out to explore the boutiques on the beach.. Even though it is dimmer than the other islands, it is ideal for enjoying a few hours.
When we set off on the way back, we were filled with the happiness of discovering different places out of our minds.. How nice it is to set out sometimes without making a plan!
