Instagram Applications and Computer Programs I Use Most

Now, since my work force is social media and blogging, I try to follow digital marketing trends, influencers, foreign bloggers, inspiring photographers and designers closely.. And I can honestly say that there is no one left who does not share a content titled Instagram Applications I Use! I wouldn’t want to add a new one to the existing and repeated things, but from time to time, “How did you do this?” from Instagram. Since the questions came, I wanted to have a comprehensive answer at hand.

A lot of water has flowed over this article I prepared in 2018.. Dozens of new features have come to Instagram; Some of the applications in the article have lost their function. I’ll add little notes to what I think is still useful in 2020.

Mobile Applications I Use on Instagram

Cute CUT

An IOS application that allows you to edit videos as you wish. I can do everything I need in video editing, such as cropping, speed adjustment, adding text with simple effects, combining different videos, putting transitions between videos.. But my favorite feature  is adding music to the video.

Unlike many video editing applications, you can add files in different layers in Cute CUT. Also, there is an option to use only the audio of the file you choose.. Thanks to this feature, Record It! I can record the music I want from Spotify and use it in videos through another application called. The only downside to Cute CUT for me is that in the free version it automatically adds the logo in the lower right corner.

[2020 update] Record It! app no longer records audio. Also, TIKTOK is now the app of choice for video collages for Instagram story.

Crop Video

Another video editing app I use often is Crop Video. This app is Cute It remains a little simpler than CUT; you can do basic operations like trim or shorten the video. For example, if there is a video that I want to share at a ratio of 1:1 instead of 9:16, I cut it in this application.. Adding music is also available, but only from within the app or Itunes.. (Unlike Video Crop-Trim, which offers almost the same features, it shows less ads in its free version.)

[2020 Update] Many of the applications developed for Instastory design most videos are starting to be compatible; You can share videos in any size you want by using the templates in the applications.. For this reason, the Crop Video application has taken its place among the Instagram applications that have lost their function..

InShot

Another application where you can add filters, effects, text, stickers and music to videos and photos InShot. (Yes, these are all Instagram apps I use regularly :)) You can trim and split videos as well as add music from Itunes. It also has the ability to record audio with a microphone over the video.. I usually use this app when I’m looking for a different font or when I want to add preset filters to videos.. Unfortunately, it now automatically adds logos to its free version.

[2020 Update] I stopped using InShot, but it’s still an app that you can actively use.

Record It!

Record It!, “So glad I found it!” one of those mobile apps. Thanks to this application, I can record the movements on the phone screen together with the sound.. As I mentioned above, to record the music I want from Spotify and add it to the videos, Record It! I use. With this application, I also get the screenshots that I share to announce a new article on the blog.

NOTE: I only use music from Spotify for videos I upload to Instagram stories.. I use “royalty free”, that is, royalty-free music in all the videos I upload to other places (Instagram home page, IGTV, Youtube…).

[2020 Update] like, this app has removed audio recording feature. It’s just saving the screenshot, but I still continue to use it actively..

CutStory

As you know, Instagram story (Instastory) allows you to upload a video of up to 15 seconds in length.. CutStory is an app that lets you split videos you shoot longer into 15-second chunks and upload them back-to-back, without interruption.. It is very comfortable to use, but we are also facing a logo problem in this application.

[2020 Update] Thanks to the new feature that came to Instagram, long videos added to the story are automatically saved for 15 seconds. breaking into pieces. It’s like we don’t need this app anymore.

Over

Over is my favorite app that I use for remarkable Instagram stories. Until two days ago, we only allowed the use of photos, now we can add videos to our design.. You can write text on a photo, add a colorful title, create a story, design a poster and do any graphic work you can think of in this application.. If you want to create collages of a few photos or share the “word of the day” a little more aesthetically, this is the application you are looking for.. You can use the paid and free ready-made templates, or you can also prepare templates according to your own taste.

[2020 Update] Over remains a great application for Instastory design, but personally, I’ve started to reduce the use of apps that do similar functions.

Adobe Spark Post

An app that is very similar to Over in principle. You can use it when you want to prepare a poster with the photos you have taken.. There are a lot of font alternatives, but I don’t use them as often as before because most of them have Turkish character problems.. With the new feature, logo and icon are now added.. It is announced to those who want to put an icon on the cover of the stories that are fixed to the profile.

[2020 Update] With its new features, it has become difficult to use on the phone; It may also be due to the old age of my phone Now I do all my graphic work on Canva.

Rookie Cam

Rookie Cam is an application that you can use to give vintage effect to photos and videos. It has the following disadvantage; does not allow you to edit videos that were not captured through this app.. I’m barely used to taking a story with my phone, but I only use it for photos because I didn’t open the app and shoot videos.. You can do everything in this application, such as aging the photo, adding light beams – I think it’s unnecessary.. I use it occasionally in stories.. The aging effect is too much for me, but you know, it’s very popular.. Maybe it will interest you. Because I love Rookie Cam’s fonts, sometimes I just use it to write on photos.

Unfold

Unfold is an app designed for Instagram stories.. You can create a collage with your photos and videos and add text on it.. Although I like the minimalist templates a lot, I try to use them as little as possible since I see them in everyone and offer very few options for customization.. Its biggest advantage is that it prepares the photos and videos I add to the ready templates in 9:16 format and 15 seconds in length to fit the Instagram story, without cutting and mowing.. That’s why it’s very practical to use, especially in a limited time.

[2020 Update] One of the applications I use most actively for Instastory sharing at the moment.. Since I share more stories than before, I started to give importance to quick and practical solutions.. Unfold does not upset me at all in this regard.

UNUM

UNUM is an application that will attract the attention of Instagrammers.. Preview functions the same as applications such as Planoly, so you can upload the photos you have prepared to the application and view them as an Instagram interface.. In this way, you decide which photos look better side by side.. Of course, I do not use this feature What I am interested in is the statistics such as “best time to share”, “best working hashtag” that it offers me even in the free version.

[2020 Update] UNUM application is still my heart.

Computer Programs I Use on Instagram

Lightroom

<

I’ve been editing the photos I shared on Instagram in the PC version of Lightroom for a long time, but there is also a mobile application.. The main reason I use it on the computer is the “Camera Calibration” feature that is not available in the application.. In addition, I frequently use the regional light and color setting, which is only available in the paid version of the application.. That’s why editing on the computer feels much more comfortable.

I use Lightroom to make the actual photo more realistic rather than creating surreal photos and colors.. I organize the photos I use in the stories in the mobile application.. Other than that, there is no photo editing program or filter that I use.

Photoshop

I think I use Photoshop for everything except photo editing.. I prepare the frequently asked maps that I use in the stories in Photoshop myself.. I wish it had an app… Besides that, I also make posters for announcing blog posts here.. (I have managed with Adobe Spark when I did not install the program.)

I have not downloaded and tried, but Photoshop’s mobile application is also available.. I don’t have the habit of deleting people or garbage from the photo.. Not because I couldn’t do it, but because I didn’t choose to do it.. If a place is crowded, it just doesn’t feel right to me as a travel blogger to hide it from people.. Of course, you can do it using Photoshop or any other application.

[2020 Update] I started using Canva, which is much more practical than Photoshop for graphics preparation.. “What is Canva, what does it do?” To see its detailed explanation, Graphic Preparation Guide for Social Media: How to Use Canva? .

I listed all the Instagram apps I use in stories and posts on the homepage. As I discover a new application or program over time, I will tell you in new articles.. If you want to see the rest of such articles, do not hesitate to comment
