In Search of the Lost City of Bademli Village, Pissa Beach

I’ve known Bademli Village for a long time, but I couldn’t find my way.. Bademli Village is still very calm and still has very untouched places.. Except for the Killik Beach, which everyone knows in Bademli Village, my favorite beach was Pissa.. An idyllic endless beach away from sunbeds, umbrellas and crowds of people.

Don’t forget to follow me on my instagram account. I tell a lot in stories and highlights

Bademli Village

I feel like I’m doing the Aegean tour I took 25 years ago, exactly 25 years ago.. Dikili is my next stop. I’ve been wondering about Bademli Village in Dikili for a long time.. Bademli village can be reached by passing through the center of Dikili.. Only nine kilometers away. When I enter Bademli Village, I park the car by the bazaar.. I am eye to eye with a very beautiful knitted bag. First, I chat with the wonderful woman who knitted it.

Where shall I go? Where should I see?” mukhtar is added to my questions. The headman of Bademli village is a woman.. He was sitting in the cafe right there drinking tea.. After a short acquaintance, he tells me about the lost city, the arrival of the French last year, and it is certain that the lost city is here.. He’s offering me verjuice juice. He says, “You can only drink this verjuice water with Bademli.”. everybody knows each other. They say it’s not a village anymore, it’s a neighborhood. The cliché “let me settle in a quiet little Aegean town” is very suitable for this place.. Time seems to have stopped.

Pissa Beach

When I leave the bazaar in Bademli Village, I come to a hub called the direction tree.. They put a dead tree. I guess I have to turn right from that tree. It’s the road to the beach. After a while, I will see the kokerec shop on the left and if I go left from there, I will reach Pissa Beach.

I take a dirt road.. After a while, a sea appears on my left. Gotta keep going. I never know where I am in places like this with no straight roads. I say “Where are you going O Bahar”. Even though I’m lost most of the time, I’m sure I’ll find it this time. Mukhtar drew me a sketch. According to him, I’m on the right track.

If you never leave that dirt road, it will take you to Pissa Beach’. 15 minutes away from Bademli village. No signage. This is a pretty big beach.. When I look from above, I witness the tones of blue dancing with each other.. No fees. When you leave the car up and walk a little down, you reach the golden sands of the beach.

Not very crowded.. I want to cool off a little before I chase after the lost city. because the weather is so hot. When I look from the beach, I see the island in the middle of the sea.. Ayanikola Church, which can be reached by boat, is located on this island.. The weather is a little breezy. I learned earlier that day that I could not go to the island.

They mentioned that most of the church was destroyed but the stairs stopped.. Mankaya in Sardala bay comes to mind. It is very similar to the rock structure there.. When I saw their first photo, I squinted to see if it was Mankaya. I ask those who swim at Pissa Beach for a while, the lost city and the ruins in the water.. No one knows.

I feel sad when I see the garbage thrown out while I’m packing up.. When will our people learn that there is no one who cleans such untouched places?. There are olive trees where I left the car. This place is very suitable for a sea camp alone with nature.

Killik Beach and the Lost City

Now to hunt for the lost city Killik Beach side. I’m going back to the asphalt road from the dirt road I came from. When I go to the asphalt road, if I go right, I will reach Bademli Village, and if I go left, I will reach Killik Beach.. This is the sketch the headman drew for me.

When I go to Killik, I have to follow the right and turn from the three-storey white house, but no matter what I do, I cannot reach that white house.. I pass through paid campsites along the coastline. My head is spinning round and round. There is a Jewish Fortress and the lost city. A few people have heard of it, but they can’t describe it.

They tell me to go down to the beach from the only grocery store where the summer houses are located.. I’m getting off. My questions are making fun of me. “You can’t go, you can’t find it.” I started to lose hope. because the weather is so hot. There is a storm on the beach too.

I take the dirt road in front of the houses on the beach and go to the sea.. I reach a ruin, but the air is blowing so much that it is a dream to dive into the water and see the ruins.. The lost city is so lost that no one can find it. I guess I have to wait for the French to go back and put up a road and a sign to that lost city. Maybe they need to dig it up. I’m also changing my route to another already known ancient city Bergama.

Maybe I couldn’t find the lost city, but I saw two beautiful beaches that I hadn’t heard of before, I learned. Killik Bay has become a well-known and settled place, but Pissa Beach is a place where one can go through olive groves and has not been caught by anyone yet.

Update: Pissa Beach is no longer a virgin bay. Now there are sun loungers, umbrellas and a facility that everyone likes.. Entry is paid. Most people already like it. Have fun everyone
