How to Find a Job Abroad?

How should a good CV be, some information that I believe will be useful for both general job application and abroad job application I shared it in my previous article for strong>. In this article, I will try to answer the how to find a job abroad question by explaining what I know about how and where to look for a job abroad, and to help those who want to work abroad.

Let’s say we have prepared a CV that we believe is good, how do we send it to companies abroad? Or more importantly, how will we find the answers to questions such as which companies are in which country and how are these companies looking for employees? When I got a job offer from a company in Munich that is big in its field and has offices in many countries, but unknown in Turkey, everyone’s first question was “where did I find it”.. Now let me explain where I found it and make it easier for those who want to follow a similar process

Your own Company Finding a Job Abroad

First of all, I must say that it is not easy to find a job from scratch, which is the method I follow, that is, it is not easy to send a CV to an advertisement on the internet and wait for a response.. The relatively simple method is to apply to the branches or representative offices of your company abroad. Because in this case, since the company already knows you, you will have a reference and this reference will create an important trust for the recruiters in the place you plan to go.. In addition, since you are already working in that company, you will know the general rules and the work done, and this experience, which will allow you to adapt to your new job more easily, will also provide a very important advantage.. So, first we start looking for a job by researching whether the company we work for has the opportunity to send us abroad.

Finding a Job Abroad with the Help of Friends

Let’s say which we are not so lucky and the company we work for does not have a branch abroad or the possibility to send it abroad. Let’s move on to plan B: Help from friends working abroad. For example, if you are thinking of going to a country/city in Europe, your acquaintances living there can give you valuable information such as which sites you should look at, which sector is most sought after.. Even the best friends who work in the companies you are considering applying to.. If you know someone like this, do not apply yourself after you find the post that fits you, ask them to apply for you.. In this case, which we can say to be a reference or ‘referral’ in half English, your CV will be given priority because it comes from someone the company knows (a friend).. In many companies, if the reference person is accepted to the job, your friends will be willing to refer you as a bonus payment is made to the intermediary employee, so feel free to ask.

Finding a Job Abroad from Scratch

In case you haven’t tried this or you don’t have such friends let’s think. Let me remind you that we need to be patient and not get demoralized, as we are faced with the reality of ‘self-employment‘, which is the most classic method.. How to go to Germany if you want to learn about my troubled process so that it is an example that you do not only experience these difficulties? You can read my post.

When you think of looking for a job, you probably thought of Linkedin. LinkedIn is the right platform for both job search and searchers to find you, and it is widely used abroad.. So make sure your information there is complete and up to date, if not, update it.. In addition, do the following (after this part it includes ‘plaza Turkish’):

Finding a Job Abroad on LinkedIn

  • Please write all your information or explanations in English, not in Turkish.
  • If possible, use a summary. A brief description of what you’ve been working on for how many years and what your expertise is.
  • ), average salaries (salaries) and interview experience (interviews). If it is a well-known and large company, many entries will be entered, this information will be very useful for you.. The salary part is already the most important information; otherwise, the “average salary expectation” question asked at the interview stage is a huge question mark.. You don’t even know very basic things like how much money someone who does a similar job with you gets there, how are the prices for daily necessities, how much of the salary is deducted as taxes, because you don’t know.. So by looking at the information on Glassdoor, you can get a general idea of whether your salary expectation should be 3 or 5, and at least give a reasonable answer when asked.

    Start exploring Glassdoor.

If you like Glassdoor and start using it, you will soon see that it asks you to become a member. You can easily log in with your Facebook or Google+ information if you are using it.. Afterwards, do not forget to share information about the companies you work with in order to be useful to people who are in search of information in a similar situation to you.. You can’t always ‘take’ because you can ‘give’ something too

Other useful features of the site are upload your CV and then you can choose what you want. to be able to apply to job postings faster (for each application, instead of uploading a CV, you upload it to the site and use it from there) and create job alert according to the criteria you want. You can also use Linkedin-like features such as ‘Popular job searches’ and ‘Jobs you may like’.

    Other Job Search Sites

Latest I will share a more general recommendation and why this recommendation is important.. Suggestion; Check the most well-known job search sites where you want to go, and even sign up for their mailing list to send you job postings that meet certain criteria you are looking for.. For example, the site Monster. Location-based versions such as monster.co.uk for the UK and monster.de for Germany will be useful.. Search Google for other job search sites, and the first results will likely be the best-known sites in the country you’re interested in.

The reason why you want to check sites frequently or receive emails for suitable postings is the same as creating job alerts from Glassdoor that I mentioned above: Being aware of postings first . The importance of this proposal stems from the first come first served approach to examining the job applications that arrive first.. In fact, we can say that your chances are very low if it has been a few days since the job posting was published, especially for large companies that everyone knows and applies for a job.. Because the advertisers will have caught a few people among the first applicants and have already started the interview process.. The ad stays there, it’s separate, but it won’t do you any good.. If you are applying from Linkedin, the information about how many people applied for the post will give you an idea about this.

Finding a job abroad because we are Turkish and not a member of the European Union Unfortunately, we are losing 1-0 on the subject, you are already aware of this.. Especially if you are dreaming of finding a job in Europe; It may be a long and tiring process in front of you due to reasons that are all against you, such as the fact that it is easier to find employees from other countries in Europe, the number of people who are not satisfied with the events in our country recently, and more and more people share the same dreams with you, and the general stagnation in Europe.. If you don’t get any response from the ads you apply with great enthusiasm saying, “This post is for me!” or if you receive that very familiar red e-mail saying “We regret to inform you that..” Believe that it is not impossible for you to achieve it, remember that we can only achieve many of our dreams after serious effort.. Maybe we know its value better when it is hard to reach.
