GÜZELDERE WATERFALL NATURAL PARK
Güzeldere waterfall nature park, which is 28 km from Düzce and 16 km from Gölyaka, within the borders of Gölyaka district of Düzce Province, takes its name from the Güzeldere village where it is located.. The Güzeldere Waterfall, located on the Bıçkı Stream passing through the Güzeldere Village, pours from a height of 136 meters and gradually glides over the block rocks and flows down.. Due to this height, it is one of the few waterfalls in the world, as well as having the title of the highest flowing waterfall in Turkey.. The upper point of the Güzeldere waterfall is at an altitude of 600 meters from the sea.. In other words, the altitude where it spills is 600 meters.

GÜZELDERE WATERFALL
After the Güzeldere Waterfall Nature Park recreation area, it is necessary to take a very difficult path to go down to the waterfall.. The waterfall is not visible when you look at the stairs at the landing point. The waterfall is reached by descending exactly 380 stairs in a lush and dense forest.. Even though it is easy to get off, I recommend you to take a rest while climbing.. There are benches for resting almost every 20-30 meters of the stairs.. The sounds of birds in the lush forest as we go down and the sound of water mixed with the sound of birds as we approach the waterfall offer us a wonderful symphony.. And finally, we reach the observation terrace closest to the waterfall.. Güzeldere waterfall is a natural wonder place that will appeal to your eyes, ears and soul.. After so many stairs we descended, we do not think about the exit already, in order to taste the pleasure of listening to the murmur of the foaming water.
Our visit to the waterfall was at the beginning of October.. With autumn, trees such as Linden, Beech, Black Pine, Maple, Ash, Hornbeam, Fir, Yew, Scotch Pine, Larch, Chestnut, in the forest area where the waterfall is located, presented us with an insatiable visual feast, clad in yellow, orange and red tones as well as green..
This region, which is very rich in terms of wildlife, is also home to animals such as wild boar, brown bear, wolf, jackal, deer and roe deer.. Even though I said that while we were walking towards the waterfall in this quiet and lonely environment, we came across a huge brown bear.. All we saw were birds and squirrels.
