Fiji Time: Enjoying the Hammock

I am staying at Kuata Natural Resort on Kuata Island from

Fiji Islands. It’s called a resort, but the hotel consists of small wooden bungalows.. I, on the other hand, stay in a long dorm room for about 20 people.. Who cares that the place to sleep is so luxurious! white sands, wonderful sea, lush forest and chirping bird sounds. Besides, the colors of the birds here are quite different, lush and crimson…

Breakfast at Kuata Natural Resort is generally mediocre, sometimes a banana, two small pancakes with melted cheese inside, or similar sugary buns and tea.. After a while after the first service, if there is still food left, you can go and get it again.. They serve your plate themselves.

My season coincides with the end of the rainy season in Fiji.. The sand and grass are wet, it had rained at night. I threw myself into a hammock as I grabbed my book, water, sunscreen, and booklets about Australia from the dorm room.. I had my book Eat, Pray, Love with me. It will be the first book I read in English in my life.

It seems that there are 20-30 guests on Kuata Island, but the number of hammocks I can see is 5 and it is quite insufficient.. Besides, the hammocks are very old and some of them are torn.

Hammocks stretched between coconut trees are very comfortable.. I spend my day sleeping in a hammock, reading a book, listening to music and podcasts, one of the best services of iPhone, about travel, swimming, and sleeping again. and I spent it sunbathing.

I’ve been itching all day, of course.. I was bitten by dozens of bedbugs at night. I used a spray, but I couldn’t reach my underarms, neck and back.

This must be what they call Fiji Time.. The day seems so long to me. Before dinner, a group went up the hill with a guide, it must be a magnificent sight.
