Fiji Islands: Kuata Island

I woke up at 6 am and packed my little backpack.. I’ll leave my sleeping bag and big backpack in the village, two shorts and three t-shirts and sandals are enough. I got on the bus, got off across the airport, and took the Awesome Advantures bus, which arrived 10 minutes later.. After a 20-minute cruise, we were in Port Denarau with the new travelers.

Port Denarau

Fiji from Fiji main island Viti Levu Ferries to the Islands operate from Denarau Port.. I stood in line and handed the voucher Fi had given me to the Fijian receptionist with her bonus hair and maybe 150-pound smiling face.. After making the necessary records on the computer, I bought my ticket and went to the Awesome Adventures boat waiting at the port.

The boat was almost full, I sat outside in the sun where I could watch the scenery, but I couldn’t stand it for a long time in the unbearable heat and went to the air-conditioned cabin inside.. When the boat stopped for the passengers going to South Sea Island, the first island, I went up again to not miss the view.. Honestly, it was worth waiting in the sun for that beautiful view.

When viewed from the boat, South Sea Island appears as a green zone with a white ring around it.. After the boats from the island picked up the island passengers, our boat moved again.. The next island is Bounty Island, the island I wanted to stay on but gave up because of the high prices, and the next island is Beachcomber Island.

Both islands looked amazing.. After Beachcomber Island, there is no other island on our route until Kuata Island where I will stay. After about 2 hours of travel, our boat stopped near the island of Kuata.. We boarded the small boat from Kuata Island to pick up their new guests.

Kuata Island and Kuata Natural Resort

As in the airport, when we arrived on the island, we took the guitar again. accompanied by Fijian songs “Bula!” they greeted. We greeted them louder, “Bula!”.

While we were waiting under the camellia, a girl from the resort came and gave us information about Kuata Natural Resort, meal times and activities.. Breakfast is between 07.00-08.00, lunch is between 12:00-13:00, tea and coffee is served at 14:30 and dinner is between 19:00-20:00.

Water running from the taps It was drinkable and electricity was provided by generator only between 18:00 and 22:00 in the evenings.. Vodafone signal is sometimes present and sometimes not.. A natural environment, far from the city and civilization.

There are mosquito nets on all beds in the dormitory room for 10 people.. They gave us bed numbers based on our names and we settled in. I didn’t have my towel because my bag was small, I rented a $5 Pakistani-made towel from reception and threw myself on the beach, in the shade under a coconut tree.. I leaned my back on the tree and watched the seemingly endless blue, Waya Island, cliffs, coconut and other trees across the street.. That must be the name of peace.

The sea is warm, between 24-28 degrees, the part close to the shore is crystal clear, but it is difficult to walk and swim comfortably in the sea due to the abundance of sea plants, corals and shellfish, they move with the waves.. They stick their heads out of the small crab nests on the sands and watch the surroundings, the weather is hot, the water is hot…

Lunch was very good, there was salad, rice pilaf, chicken with vegetables and something like potato salad on the side and it was as fresh as you can drink. mixed tropical fruit juice.

Magnificent sunset

There is a mesmerizingly beautiful blue and red sky in front of me again. I watched the sunset until it got dark, then dinner. At the table are a young Norwegian couple and a Swedish and English vacationer.. Most of the people I met were Scandinavian and English. They obviously crave the hot climate, just as I need sun and heat after New Zealand.. Although it was summer, during my trip (December 18-January 10), I had seen a lot of rain and cold.

The whole body of one of the British girls is speckled from Bed Bugs.. Just as I will see in some parts of my body the next morning.. Nothing is felt at the time of the bite of the bedbugs, but after that it itches non-stop.

Before sleeping, I sprayed my hands, feet and legs with a fly-proof spray, I only skipped the knees and waist circumference and the back of the arms.. When I woke up in the morning, I had new huge red spots, who cares.
