Artvin Karagöl, Uzungöl, Sümela Places to Visit in the Monastery We stop by Hopa on the way to Artvin and replace the boy’s lost scissors with a new one.. This scissor thing is our savior during the trip.. Lambs are not slaughtered along the way, they do not leave magazines, booklets, brochures.. “Grandma I cut this for you”. “Mom, which one do you like, where should I cut it?” “That teddy bear is just for me, please cut it :)” Every evening we collect a grocery bag of scraps from the car. After going a long way, we reach Karagöl in Artvin Borcka. After parking our car, we walk a little through the forest and here is Karagöl.
The view is truly magnificent! First we do a small trek with the children, and then we leave them next to our resting grandfather and do a larger trekking . We were going to go to Macahel region after Karagöl, but there is no time left, we turn our route to Uzungol. We find Uzungol to be quite changed and built up compared to Uzungol we saw when we came to Trabzon for a weekend two years ago.. It’s as if it has lost its beauty… Even our grandfather, who saw this place for the first time, complains that it does not look like Uzungöl he saw in the photos. Artvin Karagöl, Uzungöl, Sümela Monastery Travel Guide With the trio of stinging, dried beans, trout, we can fill our stomachs before it gets dark, to Pladi Plateau we exit. The road is so bad that it seems like it took thirty to forty kilometers to climb seven or eight kilometers. But we succeed 🙂 After returning from the plateau, we settled in our hotel Ilhan Kardeşler right behind the mosque on the lake and after dark, we take a walk on the lake shore with prams.. Uzungöl sounds much more beautiful in the calm of the night.. Early in the morning, after having breakfast on the lake shore in a calm and peaceful moment of the lake, we set out for the Sumela Monastery.. It is better for me to enter the waterfall on the monastery road up to my knees than to see Sümela 🙂 This climb is baby work for my lambs who climbed Sümela when we weren’t there 🙂 we have reached:) Click here for the 5th part of our Eastern Black Sea tour
