Dubai Activity Guide

Considered the pearl of the Middle East, Dubai has managed to become an interesting destination for tourists with its investments in tourism. case. In this article, I will talk about Dubai desert safari and Dubai amusement/water parks in detail, which I think are two must-do activities in a Dubai trip.. And then I’ll tell you where to find some other events that might be interesting so you can get notified and try the ones you want.. At the end of the article, I hope to have answered the question of what to do in Dubai a little.

Let’s start with the desert safari, which is an activity identified with Dubai.

The indispensable desert safari of Dubai trip

Dubai Desert Safari (Dubai Desert Safari)

We can summarize this popular activity in Dubai as “walking around in the desert with 4×4 jeeps like a rally driver”. There are usually 5 people in a car, excluding the driver, and the driver is also with you from the beginning to the end of the safari, like a tour guide, and guides you.. There are three different safaris based on their hours and scope.

The first is between 08:30 and 11:30 during the day, if you have really limited time, you may have to choose this one (Morning Safari). The second must start in the afternoon and stay in the tent and end the next morning; If you find it interesting to spend the night in a tent in the desert, you can try and keep your hotel one night less, camping equipment you will need such as sleeping bags and breakfast are included in the price (Overnight Safari). The most popular safari (Evening Safari) between 15:30 and 21:30, since it also includes the sunset, is the one I agree with and will tell.

At the beginning of the Dubai desert safari, there is a break for those who want to drive an ATV vehicle.

There is no need to make a reservation in advance for the Desert Safari, I didn’t do it and I haven’t heard of anyone doing it. On the day you want to attend, you tell your hotel in the morning and they are helpful.. If your accommodation does not have such an opportunity, you will definitely see Desert Safari ads or ticket shops while you are wandering around the city.. Unless you’re very unlucky you won’t have any trouble making a reservation.. Worst case call online. Prices may vary depending on the company and the vehicle you will take, I bought it for 125 AED.. I guess the price goes up when the type of vehicle changes, there was one called Hummer Safari for 200 AED.

In the main part of the desert safari called ‘dune bashing’, it is very fun to swing around in the vehicle

You say when you book the place where you want the vehicle to pick you up, it picked me up from my hotel.. I was pretty undecided about what to wear; Is it cool in the evening, should I wear something, whether I wear shorts or trousers, if I wear shoes, will sand get into them, if I wear slippers, will I walk comfortably on the sand, etc.?. The evening was not cool, I did not have any problems with shorts and t-shirts, I was comfortable with flip-flops, shoes might be difficult.. You can dress this way too.

We traveled for about 45 minutes and first came to a square.. We stopped here for about half an hour; both for those who want to shop at traditional shops and for those who want to use ATV-style vehicles in the desert to buy tickets and try the vehicles.. I didn’t try to drive because they wanted as much money as the safari fee, but there were many people using it.

Don’t forget to pose abandoned in the desert

We went back to the car after the break was over. When the driver was sure that everyone was wearing their seat belts, he turned up the radio and started the safari with sharp turns left and right in the desert, accompanied by Gangnam Style-style broken songs.. This part, which is the main event of the safari, is called dune bashing. It took about 20 minutes and I thought it was pretty fun.. A little caveat; Since these sudden maneuvers can upset the stomach, it may not be good to eat heavy before, I saw people throwing up and throwing up when they finished Also, don’t be sad if the vehicle’s wheel explodes, it happens very often.. Ours didn’t explode, but we saw 3 or 4 vehicles on the road whose tires exploded.. As the drivers are used to it, they take care of it in a short time.

We took a photo break in the desert as the sun went down, here it is possible to capture some really nice shots.. When you see that view, you will understand why evening safari is the most preferred safari, I liked it very much.

‘Evening Safari’ is preferred If you do, you can witness the sunset in the desert.

Then we came to a common area where everyone who participated in the desert safari gathered. It is possible to ride camels here and take a small trip with a camel.. If I said travel, it only takes two minutes to stay on the camel; but i still tried. If you want to take a picture while on it, they sell it for AED 50.. The camel ride is included in the safari fee.

All the offerings such as tea and coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches and pasta in the crowded area and henna painting free to get tattoos called strong>. I thought the menu was like this and ate a lot of pasta, it turned out that there was a buffet dinner with Middle Eastern cuisine afterwards

Dubai desert safari with camels It is possible to meet at the venue

There were two shows on the set stage; one is the man who is constantly spinning around himself and the other is the belly dancer. The dance of the man spinning around with his colored skirt is called Tanoura Show, this dance was the dance of Sufi dervishes and each of the colors on the man’s long colored skirt represented Sufi orders (such as Mevlevi sect, Naqshbandi sect). Watching the belly dancer felt different when there were Arab men sitting next to me in religious attire.

If we consider that an average meal costs around AED 50 in Dubai and add drinks and tea and coffee, it’s actually cheap to buy all this for the 125 AED I paid for the safari.

When the performances were over, the driver found me saying we were leaving and dropped me back to the hotel.. Desert Safari in Dubai was a smooth, fun, interesting and inexpensive experience from start to finish for me.. It is definitely worth trying, as it is an activity that is not very common in other cities we visit as tourists.

Dance shows take place on the stage set up in the evening.

The water and amusement parks, which I will explain now, of course depends on the time you go, but if you don’t go in the middle of winter as Dubai is usually hot, the air temperature is suitable for a water park. will be. For example, I went on the 23rd of April holiday and the temperatures reaching 35 degrees were very suitable for the water park

The two most famous water parks are Aquaventure and Wild Wadi; Just pick one and go to one.

Aquaventure Waterpark (Atlantis the Palm)

When you arrive at Palm Island, take a taxi and explore the super luxury villas on either side of you and arrive at Atlantis Hotel’s Aquaventure Water Park.. This is the number 1 water park in the Middle East and Europe.. It is open from 10:00 in the morning until sunset, you can ask how long it is open when you enter.. It was open until 18:45 in April when I went.

Entrance to Dubai Aquaventure water park

Daily entry 260 AED. When you buy a ticket, you have the right to benefit from the water park’s own private beach.. If you intend to take a sea-sun holiday, come in the morning and have fun on the water slides for a while, and when you get tired, you can go to the beach and enjoy swimming in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

I am with Skydive in the morning. I was able to go to Aquaventure in the afternoon because I was busy. I don’t know if it was Friday (there Friday weekend break), it was a bit crowded and it was a bit tiring to wait in line for close to half an hour for the water slide, which sometimes takes up to 30 seconds.. Because all of the slides can be climbed by climbing stairs and since most of them slide by sitting on the boat, it is necessary to take the boat from the pool below and carry it up.. In addition, the pool that falls at the end of the water slide is not a pool to swim in; its depth is at waist level and it is necessary to get out immediately. So there is no “I’ve been waiting in line for half an hour so I can swim here and go out like that next time”.. But I still had a lot of fun, I would definitely recommend it to those who are willing.

Most of the slides in Aquaventure require you to carry the boat you will sit on.

Most of the slides in Aquaventure.

I think the craziest one was the slide where I crashed into the pool below like a firecracker because it was almost perpendicular to the place called The Leap of Faith, as I said, it only takes seconds, but I am very happy. I loved. So let’s get adrenaline lovers here right away If you say I’m afraid, don’t try, you will already see how steep the slide is, it may be more appropriate to slide by sitting on the boat, sometimes slow and sometimes fast, and where you will not feel lonely thanks to the two-person boat.

Aquaconda and with six boats >Zoomerango is also fun, you don’t have to carry the boat yourself, and at the starting point the attendants seat six ordinary people. I was afraid that I was holding the leg of the man I never knew next to me, I laughed a lot when I looked at the pictures The one on the right of the row leading to these two (they divided the stairs into three, the two on the left are for these sixs and the other on the right) was the worst slide, it hurts the back. Don’t ever try it. The website is here to see all the slides and more.

The water slides look pretty good.

It has become an admirable water park, which shows that it prioritizes safety with the guards waiting every step of the way in the pool and at the starting point of the slides and guiding them at every point.. If you have children with you, staff do height checks for some activities and those shorter than 120 cm are not allowed.

Aquaventure water park also has an aquarium. Ticket for a double package with aquarium called Lost Chambers is 310 AED (Half price as the aquarium own ticket is 100 AED). For an extra 305 AED, Shark Safari, that is, shark safari, can also be done. I was wondering but I couldn’t try it due to time constraint. Towel and small locker package 50 AED, I took my towel myself just bought locker. Prices and conditions are all here.

Adrenalin lovers will love the high-slope slides in the water park.

Wild Wadi Water Park: Wild Wadi, a water park like Aquaventure, has 30 different water activities. Opening at 10:00. Closing, on the other hand, changes according to the period; Closes at 18:00 from November to February, at 19:00 from March to May and from September to October, at 20:00 from June to August. Entry is AED 275 and children under 110 cm 230 AED. You can review and decide which one you want to go to, the website is here.

I chose Aquaventure to be on the famous Palm Island and to benefit from the private beach, but Wild Wadi’ I read on the internet that those who went to the city were also very satisfied.. So after a lot of research I have done, I have not come across a result that definitely seems better than Aquaventure or Wild Wadi.. That’s why the decision here is a bit personal, you can choose the one that fits your route or the one you like the pictures more.. Wild Wadi Waterpark is 1 km from the famous Madinat Jumeirah Bazaar.

You can have fun at the water parks in Dubai.

I talked about desert safari and water park, two things that I think must be done. Now I will explain other alternatives that can be the answer to the question of what to do in Dubai, grouping them according to where they are.. Dubai Mall, which is the biggest shopping mall, stands out with its variety of activities and there are fun things to attract the attention of families with children.. The ski slope and penguins at Emirates Mall can be an interesting experience.

DUBAI MALL

The Emirates A380 Experience: A realistic simulation that gives you a piloting experience. You can even choose the place you want to go by plane, the time of day and the weather conditions.. Half hour experience starts from AED 325. Those who said “I’ll be a pilot when I grow up” but couldn’t, may want to try it. The information is here.

Dubai Ice Rink: Ice skating inside Dubai Mall runway. The site is here.

EMIRATES MALL

Ski Dubai: The ski slope at Emirates Mall stands out as the most popular activity. Even when the city is scorching at 40 degrees, it’s possible to hang out in ski and snowboard mode here.. Open from 10:00 to 23:00.

Snowpark, the world’s largest indoor snow rink, spread over 3000 square meters. Every day at 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 20:00, the penguins are singing, it is free to watch after buying any ticket to enter Those who do not want to buy tickets can try to see the penguins by looking through the window that separates the shopping mall and the ski slope.

The ski slope at Emirates Mall can be an interesting experience.

If you want to ski or snowboard, hat and gloves are not included in the ticket, you have to buy it.. Therefore, it may be useful to put it in your suitcase and take it with you in Turkey.. Ski/board ticket with the name Super Pass of different ticket types 225 AED. With the flying experience in iFly Dubai, the 2-in-1 package ticket is called SkiFly Pass and costs AED 300.

For those who know how to ski, it takes 120 minutes. You can try the Ski Slope track; AED 200 one-time and AED 310 for the whole day. For those who say that’s not enough, all-inclusive ticket Ski Dubai Experience 510 AED. Click for detailed review.

If you want to both skate and meet penguins, Power Pass makes sense; price 300 AED. I really wanted to see the penguins, but their sessions were full and I had to wait close to two hours, so I didn’t buy a ticket.. If you have the intention, you can first buy a ticket to meet the penguin called Peng-Friend Encounter and after determining your session, you can try to review other activities.

To see penguins for 40 minutes ( just go near the penguins without a ticket to the ski slope) they start at 175 AED, they provide clothes and gloves. It can be seen between 12:00 and 21:00.

Magic Planet in Emirates Mall is like an arcade, especially with children. Those who want to spend. It is the largest indoor family entertainment center in Dubai.

We can briefly call the Magic Planet at the Emirates Mall an arcade.

Finally, we have three more venues, let’s take a quick look at them.

Dubai Zoo: Zoo lovers here. The entrance fee for Dubai Zoo in Jumeirah is 2 AED online, I had a hard time believing it as everything else is expensive Closed on Tuesdays.

City Center Mirdif: A shopping mall with an entertainment complex called Magic Planet. The nearest stop on the metro is Rashidiya. There are buses to reach the mall from there.. It is possible to participate in activities such as flying experience (iFly Dubai), bowling, children’s playground, football field, climbing wall. Prices for iFly Dubai start from AED 220, go down to AED 195 if you buy online.

For any other questions you may have about Dubai You can review my Dubai guides.

Wonderland Amusement Park: We can say water park and funfair. Compared to Aquaventure and Wild Wadi, this place seemed more geared towards children.. Those who want to please their children can choose this place because the price is more affordable.. The daily price of the water park and the amusement park is 125 AED each, 150 AED if combined. More affordable for children under 5 years old. If you have the intention, they offer 20% discount on online purchases.. The nearest stop of the metro is Dubai Healthcare City.
