Cunda Island is home to Turkey’s first Bosphorus Bridge.

TURKEY’S FIRST BOSPHORUS BRIDGE IS ON CUNDA ISLAND

Turkey’s first Bosphorus bridge is on Cunda Island. You are greeted with Turkey’s first Bosphorus Bridge signs as you pass from Ayvalık to Cunda Island, with its new name Alibey Island. This passageway was Turkey’s first Bosphorus bridge.

With the development of transportation tourism between the two islands in ancient times, new needs have arisen. The bridge connecting the Lale island and Cunda (Alibey) island in 1964, Turkey’s first Bosphorus bridge was built. This bridge was put into service 9 years before its new name (martyrs’ bridge) from the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul.

There is Lale Island between Ayvalık and Cunda Island on the way from Ayvalık to Cunda. Turkey’s first bridge is actually between Lale Island and Cunda. The connection road you see below is the transition from Ayvalık to Lale Island.

On the way to Cundaya island; After passing Ayvalık and reaching Lale Island, the Bridge greets you about 1 km and thus you will step into the paradise island Cunda. You can see that the person took a souvenir photo in front of Turkey’s First Bosphorus Bridge Signposts, or photographed the scenery around the bridge. Is it beautiful……….
