Camotes Island Attractions

Another discovery we made in Cebu in the Philippines was the island of Camotes.. You’re probably hearing the name for the first time.. Even we were not aware of the existence of such an island when we were planning our trip.. It is an island we found completely by chance on our journey to explore the unknown islands of the Philippines.

First of all, we would like to point out that there is public transportation in Camotes Island. Since there is a serious problem, your first job should be to rent a motorcycle on the island.. In this way, you can travel and explore the island as you please.. Especially if you are not alone, this will be the most profitable for you.. But let’s say from the beginning, the map of Camotes Island is very poor and when you ask questions (address), remember that you will have trouble finding your destination since they constantly describe the wrong places.. And be careful not to miss the signs, as places to visit are far away!

CAMOTES ISLAND PLACES TO VISIT

We have listed the most beautiful places you can visit on Camotes Island for you, as we have toured every inch of the island.. We only recommend places to write. Do not push yourself too hard and see this here and here, and don’t ruin it.. We’ve already written the best places to visit.. Other than that, it’s just a waste of time.

Lake Danao Park

Danao lake covers an area of 148 hectares It has the distinction of being the largest lake in the Visayas region.. The original name of the lake was Imelda, after gaining the status of a national park in 1972, its name was changed in 1998 and became Lake Dano National Lake.. Located in the north of Pacijan island, the lake is one of the indispensable visiting points of Camotes island visitors.. The lake and its surroundings not only offer a healthy environment with its rich flora and fauna, but also offer a healthy environment with its natural beauty. In this environment, you can take a stroll on the lake with boats or rent a canoe and explore the lake and its surroundings by yourself.

Sakanaw : The name they give to big boats. Cost is 700 pesos for 10 people. Even if you don’t belong to any group, you can join it later.. It costs 50 pesos.

Timubo Cave

This is a cave in the town of Sonog with a depth of 70 meters. It can be reached easily by descending the stairs after passing through a correct hollow under the ground.. There is no problem as the lighting is sufficient.. You don’t need to wear trekking shoes just because it’s a cave.. Flip-flops will do you a lot, as the inside is very tidy and clean.. As you go down the stairs, the humidity in the cave feels itself more and more.. It makes you almost unbreathable.. At the end of the stairs, you feel the need to take off your slippers/shoes and relax immediately.. Since the temperature of the water is at a very ideal level, it does not get cold. There are 3 pools in total.. Actually 3 we discovered. Since it was dark ahead, we couldn’t afford to go further The clarity of the water inside surprised us.. The deep blue is clear enough to see the smallest thing under the water clearly.. Again, the absence of any living thing in the water and the absence of insects in the cave (we did not see it, at least) are an advantage for those who have fear in this direction.

Entry Fee: 10 php at the entrance of the cave under the name of tax + 20 php entrance + 5 php parking

Bukilat Cave

Bukilat cave, one of the 8 natural caves of Camotes island, is in Poro island. To tell the truth, it is more ostentatious than the Timubo cave.. However, as we were unlucky, the water in the cave was low on the day we visited the cave.. It is still unknown where the water source came from, but estimates suggest it came from an underground source.. The rock formations inside the cave, the reflected sparkles of the water accumulating in the wide grooves and the sun rays penetrating through the oval spaces above the cave make the atmosphere of this place very interesting.

Holy Crystal Cave

Unlike other caves, you cannot enter here without a guide. When you start to tour the cave with a lantern, you realize why its name is holy.. You’ll see glows you’ve never seen in any cave. It’s like glitter is sprinkled on every rock formation, and each one shines brightly.. What is remarkable is not only this, but it is also possible to see the angel figures that you carefully examine the rock formations.. Its location is before arriving at Mangodlong Rock Resort.

Paraiso Cave : We can say that it is slightly larger than Timubo cave. But equally small in capacity. In other words, it is a cave that can be entered by a maximum of 10 people.. It can be quite depressing since there is too much of it.. So if you come early in the morning you will probably be the only visitor.. The depth of the pool is not more than a human height and the depth of the cave is 8 meters.. The cave is before reaching Borremeo beach.

Entry Fee: 20 php

Buho Rock

The only joke of Buho rock on Poro island is actually a high jump activity from platforms built on the rock. We had such an experience on the island of Siquijor, but we had no trouble jumping as the water was very clear and still there.. Since this is the open sea, it gets scary when the water is quite wavy. I can’t jump, if you say these things are for me, there is a place like a canyon formed by natural formation right behind the rock.. You can also swim here if you wish.. Or you can lay your towel on a place you find empty on Buho Rock and enjoy the sprinkling sun.. After all, you paid the entrance fee, just use it Entry Fee: 20 php

Mangodlong Rock

The rock that separates the two beaches is located within the boundaries of Mangodlong Rock Beach Resort.. Since we stayed in the other hotel of this hotel, namely the Santiago Bay Resort, we entered easily without paying.. The entrance fee for non-hotel guests is 15 pesos.

Panganuron Falls

strong>

The Panganuron waterfall is also located on the island of Poro. Although it is not very majestic, it meets the expectations of a waterfall.

Busay Falls

It’s even smaller than the Panganuron waterfall. Actually, if we consider it as a waterbed, it is very long, but the main waterfall is very small.. When we visited in January, the water bed was completely dry and the waterfall water was undecided between flowing and not flowing “text-align: justify;”>

Tulang Diot Island

You can reach the island with a 15-minute journey by boat from the town of Fiot, which is approximately 7-8 km north of Timubo cave.. It is the smallest of the Camotes island group.. One way boat costs 15 php.

San Francisco Town

A town at the junction of the island of Pacijan and the island of Poro. You can shop at the open market called Agora, take a walk by the sea along the Baywalk, meet your food needs at 1/4 price according to touristic destinations from vendors selling homemade food or grilled stalls..
