Compared to other touristic cities, this city, built on a very small area of 430 hectares, is definitely one of the European cities to be seen..
While walking around this city, the interaction of art and architecture is very clearly seen. Gothic bricks, which are characteristic features of Northern Europe and the Baltic region, are almost a part of the city identity..

By plane: You must first land at the Brussels Airport in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, by plane, and then come to Bruges by train.
By train: Other Like European cities, Belgium is part of a highly developed train network.. The maps, which you can obtain from tourist offices and on the boards on almost every platform at train stations, are easily readable and understandable.. Train departure times and the platforms on which they will move are compatible with the information on the screens at the stations and therefore can be found easily. It’s important to keep an eye on these screens just for last minute updates. By car: You can reach Bruges by the E40 highway from Eurotunnel, Calais and Dunkirk.. You will reach the city center easily by following the signs for Brugge Centrum.. Driving in the city is not very comfortable due to the narrow streets, so we recommend that you park your vehicle outside the city center.

Although this touristic city is small, it is a place where you can find many hotels, hostels, bed & breakfasts. As we always do, before finding the hotel we will stay in Bruges, after comparing our alternatives on Booking.com, hostelworld.com and airbnb.com, we chose our room in Europa Hostel that we will share with 6 people.. This hostel was ideal for us as it was clean, affordable (breakfast included) and walking distance from the train station and the city centre.

Walking: Put on your most comfortable sneakers and get lost in the narrow streets of this fairytale city. We truly believe that this is the best way to explore a city.. The surprises waiting for you on the way and the people you meet will make you have a completely different experience.. If you don’t want to walk, you can choose City Tours.. These tiny buses stop at all the must-see points, and there are usually English narrations at the historical points.
Carriage ride: You can explore the city by taking a romantic “carriage ride” on a horse-drawn carriage.. Although the fees are a bit high, you can experience this touristic activity if you don’t have much time and it won’t break your budget.
Canal Tour: Half an hour and you can see the most beautiful spots of Bruges. With canal tours, you will realize that Bruges is indeed a fairy tale city.

The food you should choose while in Belgium is definitely mussels & potatoes. Don’t miss it as soon as you see Moules & Frites on the menu. With a Belgian beer, you should choose chocolate or waffles for dessert.
If you haven’t tried Belgian beer yet, wait no longer.. In this city where you can easily find dozens of different types and brands of beer, you can sit in the garden of any cafe or restaurant and enjoy the weather and the city.. You can test different beers by stopping by the Beer Museum in the city.
