Bodrum Travel Guide

Places to Visit in Bodrum and Its Most Beautiful Bays

Travel has been the focus of our lives for the last 4 years. No matter which seaside town we go to, the subject comes back to Bodrum, and we say ‘it’s not a Bodrum’.

Bodrum is not only a holiday destination for us, but also our families. Bodrum is our second home because he lives in Bodrum! Our second home, where we love summer and winter separately.

Finally we stopped and said, we are writing the cities we saw once on our blog, why didn’t we write about Bodrum, which we know like the back of our hand!

Here you go, it’s late! ‘ Blog Bodrum travel guidewhat! You can be sure that we will not recommend a beach in Türkbükü, go to the Catamaran for evening entertainment or sink the day in Limon, and we will not list expensive restaurants overflowing with the crowd.

<

Let’s say from the beginning, there are so many things to do in Bodrum, so many coves to see and so many places to try that there will certainly be some missing parts of our article.. We will add the missing parts with time and patience, because this is our Bodrum and it is a guide that we have written completely according to our own experiences.. The blog duo says here, please do not criticize for missing places!

Accommodation Options in Bodrum

Let’s talk about accommodation first, after all, it’s the most essential need!

Bodrum appeals to such a wide range that maybe you want an all-inclusive concept hotel, maybe you want to relax in a deserted bay.. That’s why we will talk about Bodrum accommodation suggestions for every taste.

Gumbet and Bitez

Bodrum is very close to the center. It is especially preferred by young people for. Gumbet was a quiet fishing town at the time, but now it has turned into an area with many all-inclusive concept hotels.. Prices are often more affordable than the rest of Bodrum.. If you want to go out in the evening, it is very easy to get to Bodrum center from Gumbet and Bitez, it is full until late hours.

While Bitez Seaside is our favorite hotel in Bitez (we left a link), it’s a bit more luxurious but a little more luxurious. Again, our affordable Bitez hotel recommendation will be Meis Apart, its link is here.

If you can find a place in Gumbet, by all means Nagi Beach Hotel. Right by the sea, affordable and clean. We left the link here.

Still, we must say that Gumbet and Bitez are not our favorite regions.

Turgutreis

<

The region where life is most intense in Bodrum in winter. The urbanized face of Bodrum. For us, Turgutreis has always been a place to go in winter time, not summer time.. And the sea is very wavy, not swimming, but surfing!

If you are looking for an affordable and centrally located place in Turgutreis that is open both summer and winter, our recommendation will be Sunset Mavi.. The link is here.

If you’re coming with a child, if you want it to be kid-friendly and fun with a pool, but not too expensive, you can look at Hotel Turiya.. The link is here.

Gumusluk

We are slowly coming to our favorite places. Famous for its beachside fishermen, Gumusluk was once one of the quietest places in Bodrum.. There were fishermen and then villagers.. Over time, as those who migrated from Istanbul to Bodrum preferred Gümüşlük the most and transportation to Gümüşlük became easier, it became crowded.. Prices have increased. Now you pay the bill in those famous fishermen by selling kidneys.

Although this is not our topic, we were talking about accommodation.. In our opinion, Gumusluk, especially on its coast and in the village, definitely deserves to be seen on a Bodrum holiday and can be one of the best options for accommodation.. For example, you go down to the beach from your hotel, drink your tea in the country coffee, take your bagel from the Gümüşlük Bakery and enjoy the view of Kalymnos, for example..

Our Gumusluk accommodation recommendation; Vega Boutique Apart (link is here) for those who are looking for a convenient, clean and central place, and Misket Hotel for those who are looking for a more luxurious and central place.. (link is here).

Yalıkavak

The sea is quite beautiful, it is a region with many hotel options.. We think there are two cons; the first is that it has become overcrowded and expensive after Yalıkavak Marina was built, and the second is that if the hotel you will stay at does not have its own beach, almost all beaches are paid.. For example; ‘Dodo’ and ‘Xuma’, one of the most famous Yalikavak ‘beach’s of recent times, are here. Entry to Xuma is 100 lira per person as of today. We prefer to spend our 100 lira on much nicer things.. The same is true for Turkbuku.. Once upon a time, the ‘Ayran + lahmacun’ duo for 75 TL was an event here. Our feelings for Türkbükü are clear.

Let’s talk about the places we are in love with!

Akyarlar

In our opinion, the most beautiful sea of Bodrum with Yahşi is in Akyarlar. An unspoiled coastline that continues up to Turgutreis. Akyarlar and its shopkeepers still have a nice, calm and peaceful atmosphere. You can also rent a hotel and spend all day by the sea without spending a lot of money.

We will recommend an all-inclusive hotel with an extremely beautiful beach in Akyarlar.. LIV Hotel by Bellazure. Although we are not normally the biggest fans of the all-inclusive concept, those who enter Akyarlar do not want to go out again, so Akyarlar is torpedoed! We left the link of the hotel here.

If there is no room left here (which usually does not happen), you can also consider Meteor Beach Hotel.. We left the link again.

We left our favorite for last, Yahşi!

No one should be angry, but in our opinion, Yahşi shores, the most beautiful sea of Bodrum!

Yahşi and one Ortakent, one step ahead, is our two favorite towns in Bodrum.. If you are looking for a town far from noisy hotels, close to very beautiful sea and beautiful bays, you will love Ortakent. It is a big plus that hotel prices are more affordable and there is no entrance fee to most places on the beach.

Finally, if you want to stay at Airbnb, let’s leave a link like this.. If you become a member of Airbnb with this link, you will earn a credit of 130 TL valid for your first stay, and as you continue to use Airbnb, Airbnb may start to like you more and add surprise credits to your account.

Accommodation in Bodrum in this way, we think the accommodation is complete!

We can now talk about what makes Bodrum Bodrum, of course, the most beautiful bays.

The Most Beautiful of Bodrum Beaches and Bays

We go to Bodrum about 6 times a year, so we had some(!) time to visit! We don’t like every sea or every beach.. For one thing, there will be no entrance fee (and if there is, it will not be just to screw people), people will not be crowded, the sea will not be too choppy, we have very many criteria in our own way.. We also made a list of our favorite Bodrum coves and beaches.

There may be people who think otherwise, after all, everyone has their own Bodrum!

Then one of our choices,

The Most Beautiful Bodrum Bays and Beaches

Let’s start with our favourite;

Mazi Village

Mazi is our dear , Our favorite bay in Bodrum. You can find Mazı in “Undiscovered bays of Bodrum”. It is written but very few people go, so it is still untouched, still calm and clean.

Transportation to Maziköy It takes 1 hour by car from Bodrum center, if you don’t have a car, you can also take Mazi minibuses from Bodrum center. .

There are 8 bays in Mazı. You can throw your towel at anyone and lay down. Of course, there is no entrance fee, this nature is yours.

The most visited bay in Mazi, Hurma Bay. This is considered the center of Mazı.. Kayabaşı Restaurant is the fixture of this place. On the way back from Mazı, you can have your lunch at ‘Ayşe Abla’nın Yeri.

Ilgın Bay in our opinion the most beautiful bay of Mazı. No business, no sunbeds, and most of the time no one but you. The nature, calmness and villagers of Mazı are very different.. While you’ve been to Bodrum, we recommend that you take a little peace from Mazı and return.

Kargicak Bay

How can we say that a sea is beautiful; we always say ‘like a sheet’ or ‘turquoise waters’. Here Kargicak bay is exactly such a bay! Immaculate and very calm.. You see, there is you in the bay and there are a few other young people who have spent the night camping here.

Pabuç Burun and Black Cape. >Kargicak Bay has no facilities, no place to get water, no crowds of tourists. Did it give you peace in Bodrum, number two..

You only need a car to go to Kargicak Bay, no public transportation is nearby.. Maybe this is a good thing.

Ortakent / Yahşi Beach

Okay, maybe you say, what are we doing in the bays in the middle of nowhere, we came for a little socializing on vacation, you are right too.. Of course, not everyone is as antisocial as we are..

We love Ortakent beach, because there are ‘Beach Restaurants’ along the beach and instead of charging an entrance fee, you pay for whatever you drink on the beach all day long.. Prices in most places are also very affordable compared to Bodrum average.

If you want a beautiful sea without a beach fee, our vote is for Ortakent.

Karaincir Beach

This is a long sandy beach in Akyarlar. You pay for what you eat and drink throughout the day instead of paying for most of the facilities here. The prices are a bit high of course, but it’s still better than paying just to swim in the sea.. The minimum spending limit during the day is usually between 50-60 liras.

Ideal for those who go with children and look for a smooth sea and sand duo.. We love enough even when we are childless.. While you’re here, you can eat raw pastry at ‘Honey Mahmut’s Yeri‘. They make a legend!

Torba Beach

Torba is a beautiful beach, 10 km away from Bodrum center, where you can rent a public beach or rent sun loungers + umbrellas.. The beach is not sandy like Akyarlar, but the stones don’t hurt that much either.. The sea is quite pleasant.

Last time we went, we were a little sad because many hotels have been built in the Torba region in recent years, so the hotels have dominated the coastal region and the number of independent businesses we mentioned has decreased.. Take a look here before the hotels take over all of Bodrum!

What we said about Torba also applies to Bardakçı Bay, which is close to the center of Bodrum.. Before the hotels occupied it, most of it was a public beach and it was free.. Now you can go from Bodrum center in 10 minutes with small fishing boats, but everywhere is full of beaches of hotels.. If you don’t want to go too far from the center of Bodrum, you can make an agreement with the hotels and use the sun loungers of the hotels for a certain fee.

Paradise Bay – Göltürkbükü

As you can see, the bays on the Bodrum peninsula are endless, one more bay from us

Paradise Cove is an extremely beautiful Bodrum cove where forest and sea meet and where businesses have not yet surrounded.. The view from above is also beautiful. If you are going to go here because there are no businesses around, be sure to take your water and food with you.

However, something happened here! It was such a thing that, since there is not a single business around him yet (there is no supervision either), he is surrounded by uncles who pull the car over like this and turn on music and leave their trash on the way.. Believe me, we don’t understand where they came from.

If you have an idea to camp in Bodrum Cennet Bay is a real camper’s land.. You will never feel alone.

Gerenkuyu Beach

We would like to tell you about one of our oldest Bodrum pupils, ‘Gerenkuyu Beach’. We can’t talk, why? Because a very famous builder, whose name we do not want to mention here, has completely closed the beach with wires because of some of his projects here.. You are the people, but it is now impossible to reach the public beach.. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll skip stones.

If you’re curious about what happened to Gerenkuyu, Google will tell you its story…

Of course, Bodrum’s beaches and beaches are not just what we’re talking about.. There are many coves, many beaches that can be written. We have tried to write our own favorites here.

We did not write here Cistern in Bitez and Aktur, Meteor in Akyarlar There are dozens of beaches like. Whatever you do, throw a portable camper chair in the back of your car.. You never know when and where you will need to remove it!

Daily Boat Tours from Bodrum

You’ve come all the way to Bodrum, we wanted to talk about boat tours in case you want to see the beauties that cannot be reached by land.

From Bodrum Speaking of boat tours, Pirates of the Caribbean themed tours with squeaky music, oh my! We’ve done it too. The stops where the boats stop are very nice, but imagine that for 10 hours, Arabian pop or terrible music is playing on the boat and everyone is very eager to dance except you.. All you want is to listen to your head and enjoy the bays.. Just when you are doing this, someone above you jumps into the sea saying “cos!”.

There are also private boat tours, it sounds very cool when you say private boat tour, but believe me, it’s not.. Especially if you are a team of 8 people or more, you pay about 100-150 liras per person for the whole day boat tour.. You choose the coves you will go to.. If you decide to do such a private tour, you can visit the Kızıl Bay, Hattat Bay and Hattat Bay between Torba and Göktürkbükü. We recommend that you include strong>Cennet Bay in your route.

The other boat tour we would like to suggest is Dalyan Tour. The tour lasts a full day and you have the chance to see the Kaunas Ancient City. We always say, ‘Muğla is different’.

Places to Visit in Bodrum Center

You will definitely go to Bodrum center one evening during your holiday, after all, entertainment is here! If you want to see it during the day, we have listed the places you can see by taking a quick tour in the center of Bodrum.

Bodrum Castle:

The traces of the Middle Ages are always in Kotor, Dubrovnik We will not find it in Bodrum, of course, there is the same in Bodrum.

The castle was built in the 15th century in St.. It was built by the Knights of St. Jean and has been used for different purposes (as it stands) until today.

Restored after being damaged in World War I.. Unlike most of the buildings that have been restored and deteriorated, most historians have found the restored version of the castle to be quite successful.

The castle remained empty for 40 years after World War I and was later used as a warehouse for shipwreck research.. Finally, an ‘Underwater Archeology Museum’ was established inside the castle.. If you visit the museum when you go to the castle, you are killing two birds with one stone!

Zeki Müren Museum:

Nobody knows Zeki Müren’s love for Bodrum.. Inside, there is everything from Zeki Müren’s stage costumes to his personal belongings and the awards he received.. In the center of Bodrum, we like the Kumbahçe area where this museum is more than the bazaar area. If you come all the way to the museum, you can also wander the streets.

Bodrum Bars Street:

We wouldn’t pass this place without writing! The area starting from Kale Street and extending to Halicarnassus Disco is generally referred to as Bodrum Bar Street.

When we were young when we went to Bars Street in the evenings, We used to go strong>Tower Rock, nothing has changed we still go to Tower Rock.

Last time we went, we saw that a ‘Café Beatles’ was opened in the center, now we have to go for our next Bodrum landing!

Eating in Bodrum – Drinking Suggestions

Now this is a very wide range too. So let’s write our favorites, we are already assertive that it will be quite long!

Breakfast Suggestions in Bodrum
Zip Zip Café / Çamlık Village

Bodrum When we say breakfast in , we think of breakfasts in a row in Çamlık Village, indeed, mixed breakfast is the specialty of this village! Zip Zip Café is the most famous breakfast restaurant in the village.. If you want to spend a day on your holiday for a large breakfast, you can go to Çamlık Village, if you are tempted to go to Çamlık Village or if you don’t have a car, let’s take you to ‘Ana Eve’ in Yalıkavak!

Havva Ana Breakfast House

A warm place that welcomes us with a smiling face whenever we go. They also have legendary bazlama and pancakes! The only big minus in summer is that it’s very crowded.. The earlier you go, the better.. Mixed breakfast is around 40 lira per person right now.

If you can’t find a place in Ana Eve, you can try ‘Asmalı Çardak’ in Yalikavak.. Here, your tea comes to the table in the teapot, the jams are homemade and the breads are delicious.. It is a very pleasant place.

If you are looking for a relatively ‘luxury’ place with a little more view, we recommend Teledolap in Gumusluk. The view is incredible..The prices are a bit higher than other breakfast shops.

Pelo

We would like to make a list of good coffee shops in Bodrum, but unfortunately, no matter how much we searched, we searched for a nice and niche place in Bodrum. We couldn’t find a coffee shop! Except for one place, ‘Pelo” in the center of Bodrum. Both the environment and the coffees are very nice.. It is really ideal for a coffee break in the center of Bodrum.. Unfortunately, that’s all we recommend for coffee shops, I guess Bodrum residents love tea! If we find another, we will add it here..

Lunch – Dinner Suggestions

This is a long list as you can imagine! We decided to write down our 10 favorite places, here are our top 10!

Bodrum Leman Kültür

You may remember Leman Kültür in Taksim Maybe you came and went a lot during your university years like us.. There is a branch of that Leman in Bodrum for a long time.. Worth a visit just for that! It also has a very rich menu and its prices are very affordable compared to most places on the beach in Bodrum.

The last time we went to Bodrum, we decided to go to OX Wine & Burger, which is right next to Leman and is highly recommended, but the only hamburger is 50 TL. The prices of Leman are quite innocent next to these places.

Shop no: 10

Seafood lovers gather together! It is possible to eat delicious seafood in Bodrum in Gumusluk without paying huge fees. Shop No. 10. A very friendly, shabby Bodrum place. Everything sold inside, but everything is seafood! You don’t have a chance to eat something alternative, those who don’t eat seafood stay away.

Sugar & Salt

We discovered this place on our last trip to Bodrum. It’s a very friendly place, unlike most places right on the Neyzen Tevfik street, it’s quieter and the food is pretty good.. In addition, there are dozens of other good places to eat on Neyzen Tevfik street, which we walked on on the way to Sugar & Salt’.. There are also alternative places like falafels, mexican restaurants and vegan restaurants.. We can’t come this far and stay hungry, that’s for sure!

Meat Burger & Steak House

If we hadn’t offered a hamburger restaurant, believe me, if we couldn’t live without carbohydrates! This is our favorite hamburger place in the center of Bodrum.. We just have to say that the prices may have skyrocketed in the last 2 years….

Bağarası Restaurant:

We moved one click away from Bodrum center and went to Bitez. They called Bağarası a ‘Restaurant’, but in our opinion, it resembles a country coffee more.. We say this as a compliment, by the way! There are local dishes, dishes made with village chicken, different appetizers and a very famous soufflé.. If you want a place “Bodrum Bodrum”, we can take you here…

Additional note: This place can be very crowded in summer time, reservation is a must.. If you can’t find a place here, you can try ‘Balkon Bitez’, which is a local business.

Bitez Village Mantısı:

We couldn’t come all the way to Bitez and return without eating village ravioli. of course. Here’s our favorite ‘Crispy Ravioli Feraye’. If you can, a raw pastry is added to it.. Bon appetit in advance.

Sait’s Yeri

None of the hundreds of fishermen who sailed to Yalikavak, Sait’s first and original place ‘Sait’in Yeri’we think she can’t hold. Do not go to the dozens of places of Sait that were opened later, go to the old place. There is no need to go to another fisherman in Yalıkavak anyway.

Sorry, we almost forgot ‘Mahmut Kaptin’s Place’! This is the place of ‘Mahmut Kaptan’, one of the oldest businesses in Bodrum.. We can say that it is a small tavern rather than a fisherman.. Don’t forget, reservation is a must as it is tiny! If you go, you should definitely try the meat pie.

Speaking of the tavern, we’ve always wondered about another Bodrum Tavern, ‘Atgeç Tavern’, that we always wanted to go to but could never go to.. Maybe you can add it to your list to try.

Now you may say that you are recommending Kokoreç, but we think that the bodies that find Kokoreç once a month a month, like us, may have at least one venue suggestion! If you crave kokoreç, you can go to Elo Kokoreç in Turgutreis.. We closed the Kokorec conversation right away! Then we get stoned, we need humidity..

Let’s close the article with a few activities that we haven’t done in Bodrum until now, but that we plan to do in our next Bodrum visits, maybe you will do it before we do, who knows!?

* Visiting the Old Karakaya Village on the ridges of Gumusluk
* Having breakfast at Hayat Kafe in Gumusluk
* And walking the Bodrum Leleg Road!
