Since I live in Istanbul, I prefer day trips where I can be in touch with nature at the weekend.
If you think like me, I have a very good suggestion.. My route for this weekend trip; Breakfast in Sapanca, a short break in Taraklı, and finally Çubuk Lake.
I hit the road again early because I used to hit the road early when I was on a journey.. My first stop was Titiz Grid.
Titiz Grid is located on the right side of the Izmit road after exiting the Sapanca exit on the highway (Approximately 500 meters). It is a very nice place where you can have breakfast under the trees, your children can play ball, have fun in the hammock and spend quality time picking plums from the trees.
There is a rich buffet on the breakfast menu that has been thought of as cooking.. As of June 2018, the price is 40 TL. Of course, there are not only breakfast but also grill varieties.
After having my breakfast and swinging in the hammock, I set out for Taraklı.
Scalloped, like Little Safranbolu. Half an hour and 45 minutes will suffice here.. It’s a small town where you can wander among old houses and mansions and shop from vendors at very affordable prices.
There are 2-3 hotels to stay in for those who come from afar.. I did not stay, but as far as I researched, Kadir’s Mansion is preferred.. The mansion also has an interesting story.
About 150 years ago, a gentleman named Çakır Abdullah aspires to a lady from Istanbul while he was traveling to and from Istanbul because he was a merchant.. The lady says I have a condition to marry you and shows a mansion in Büyükada and says if you make such a mansion, I will marry you.. Thereupon, this gentleman is also building the Kadirler Mansion.. And he uses 2 houses of timber while building the mansion, as it was called at that time.. At the same time, he creates visual spaces from the pictures of Istanbul landscapes on the wall of a room and the ceiling of the upstairs living room so that his wife’s longing for Istanbul goes away.. It can be a good option to stay in this mansion, which is an Ottoman heirloom, and taste local delicacies.
After purchasing my handmade basket and my cherry picked the same day, I set out for Çubuk Lake, which I was very curious about.
Çbar Gölü
This lake, which is 7 km away from Göynük, impressed me the first time I saw it.. It’s a fairy tale-like place that hasn’t been discovered yet, far from the crowd.
It’s really sad that it’s a place that explorers can’t keep clean, unfortunately.. For example, although it is forbidden to light a fire by the lake, you see people having barbecues.
Luckily, the number of insensitive visitors is not too many for now.. That’s why it’s a place to open your picnic basket, sit at the table with the lake view and relax and relax.
I didn’t choose it because I brought food and drink with me, but there is one facility by the lake.
For those who like camping, There are areas where you can set up your tent by the lake.
The windmills around the lake add a fairy-tale atmosphere here.. Windmills was made for the TV series, and this place was abandoned when the series was canceled after a few episodes.
If you have time, while you’re here, Çubuk Lake I recommend you to go to the Sünnet Lake, which is larger than. Fortunately, at the end of June, I couldn’t go because it was raining.
For those who want to go; After you take the main road from Çubuk Lake to Göynük, a 15 km road awaits you.
I ate because my picnic basket was full, you If you prefer to eat out, I recommend Lalezar Restaurant in Göynük.. As far as I’ve heard, the stuffed leaves in the casserole are delicious.
If you’re a nature lover like me and especially for a weekend trip in Istanbul, different routes If you are looking, you should definitely add these to your list
