At last we were in Barcelona, one of the most praised cities in Europe, and I had already started keeping Barcelona travel notes.. We thought we would find it easy as the hostel we were staying at was right next to the Sagrada Familia Church.. We took the train from Barcelona Airport to the city center.. But since we didn’t have a map yet, we were trying to find the church by asking questions.. We were disappointed by a Spanish sister who said we had landed in the wrong place.. Because we had been traveling Europe for about 15 days and we could only rest for 2 days.. We decided to walk in a sleepless, tired and exhausted state and arrived at our hostel after 20 minutes on foot from the Passeig de Gracia area.

Barcelona Travel Notes
Although our hostel is right next to the Sagrada Familia Church, we made a reservation for a shared dorm, paying as little as £13 per person.. However, the room was a 22-person dorm and was the largest shared room I’ve ever stayed in.. When we wanted to take a nap, we met a few backpackers and went to visit the Sagrada Familia Church without packing our bags.. Although we were quite tired, we were not tired after seeing the Sagrada Familia.. Right after we had our church visit for about 40 minutes, I really wanted to take a nap.. Because we had 5 more days in Barcelona and there was no point in our hurry.
Anyway, we were on our way to Casa Mila after Sagrada Familia.. We arrived at Casa Mila, Gaudi’s magnificent work, in about 10-15 minutes.. However, after seeing the tourists in the ticket queue, I lost my appetite to see the building.. We were going to return to the hostel after convincing our friends that we would visit the next day and taking a few photos from the outside, when the Casa Batllo building was right next to Casa Mila.. Unfortunately, the ticket queues for this building were also very crowded, so we postponed it until the morning of the next day.. You can’t imagine how crowded these buildings are at 2-3 in the afternoon. Therefore, it is useful to visit these two popular buildings of Barcelona early in the morning.
We set out with the excitement of seeing Casa Mila and Casa Batllo in the morning of the next day.. Since we were not tired or sleepy this time, we had no other thought but to travel all over Barcelona.. Both these buildings are located in an area called Passeig de Gracia.. You can find restaurants, bars, cafes, whatever you want in the area. Based on my research, I took ours from Passeig de Gracia to La Rambla Street.. All we wanted to do here was find a cheap and good meal. However, since most of the restaurants start from £17-20, it took us 1 hour to find the appropriate restaurant.. I ordered two slices of fried chicken and a little rice for £7.
We were out exploring La Rambla, hoping it would be enough for dinner, even if it wasn’t very filling.. Boqueria Market, located in this area, is an indoor market where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, and everything is quite convenient compared to the markets.
After buying a few bananas from here, we reached the Barri Gothic District, which is only 5 minutes’ walk from La Rambla.. This area was one of my favorite places in Barcelona.. It was quite impressive with its historical buildings and touristic places.. The Barcelona Cathedral, located in this area, is a very important place in terms of places to visit in Barcelona and the cathedral was free to enter in the morning, of course we learned this after visiting the cathedral and it was a bit of a disappointment.
Immediately, souvenirs after the cathedral visit. we were looking for and it was quite difficult to find a place that fits our budget and finally we found the place we wanted. We didn’t know right away that we were behind the Barceloneta Beaches. Just as we were going back to our hostel, we gave up when we saw the sea.. This area of beaches and beaches, called Barceloneta, is a bit of a rich business.. Prices in fish restaurants start from £25 and renting sunbeds on the beaches is £15, without an umbrella, if you want an umbrella, you have to pay a fee of £5.. If you only stay on the sunbeds for 2 hours at this price, I think it’s a bit expensive.. While we were sitting on the benches just behind the beach, we started to plan for the nightlife in Barcelona when two Spanish student girls informed us of the party at the nightclub where they were working (we got our £2 discount coupon from these two Spaniards).. Because the entrance fee was only £10 and a drink was free. This nightclub, called Macarena, was in the area called Barri Gotic District, that is, Gothic Quarter, and after sleeping a little in our hostel, we set off from Sagrada Familia to this nightclub around 11:30 at night.
To be honest, for nightlife in Barcelona. We didn’t have much of a plan. However, we had seen most of Barcelona’s most important sights in two days and we had 3 more days. A nice party wouldn’t be bad after all this tiredness. After I entered this nightclub called Macarena, I started to think that the Spaniards have a slightly different understanding of partying.
Almost everyone was sitting and trying to accompany the music from their seats.. While we were drinking our drinks, let’s go, an announcement was made and everyone started coming towards the bar, as if free drinks were being distributed from the bar.
It turns out that you get half price drinks from 1am to 1.30am.. In other words, we could get a £20 cocktail at certain times of the night, half price if announced.. We decided to stay at the club a little longer after we bought a few drinks that we thought were free with this gas.. Later we learned that the nightlife here gets lively after 01:00.
We went to Barcelona in the first week of May, the weather was fine and not too crowded.. The plan for the third day was to see all the other places in Barcelona and for this we set out for Montjuic, a little bit outside the city.. Montjuic is better known as a hill. On this hill, you can see very popular touristic places such as Poble Espanyol and the Catalan National Art Museum.. We realized that Poble Espanyol was not as praised, and we came to Plaça d’Espanya, where the Catalan National Art Museum and the fountain called Magic Fountain are located.. The museum, located just above the square, is between the Catalan National Art Museum and Montjuic Hill and the square called Plaça d’Espanya. we started to spend some time around. We set out to take a look at Tibidabo, which is very close to Montjuic Hill, and after a long time of 25 minutes, we came to the amusement park called Tibidabo.. Although this amusement park is thought to be for children, it is possible to see many adults inside.. Right above this amusement park, there is a religious building known as the Tibidabo Church.. Although we do not enter the church, there are places around the church where you can watch the magnificent view of Barcelona.. I think it would be more logical to go to Tibidabo not for the park or the church, but for the scenery.
After Tibidabo, you can immediately go to the National Museum of Catalan Art to watch the shows at the Magic Fountain in Plaça d’Espanya. We took our place on the stairs of. I can say that the harmony of light and music and the atmosphere around this square with its magnificent crowd is one of the must-try experiences.
The plan for the fourth day was Park Güell, Parc de la Ciutadella and the Nou Camp Stadium.. We were trying to get to Park Güell first thing in the morning.. According to the information given to us by the tourist offices and our hostel receptionist, we were on our way to the park.. Since Park Güell is quite far from our hostel, we had to go to the park by metro.. After getting off at the Valcarca stop on the metro, no one was advising us to walk.. However, after we didn’t like the prices we got from the taxi drivers, we decided to walk.. We reached Park Güell in less than 20 minutes from the Valcarca metro stop, although we walked quite slowly.. However, the road from this stop does not directly lead to the main entrance.. If you want to go from the main entrance, it is useful to use the metro stop called Lesseps.
Park Güell, in my opinion, was the best park in Barcelona.. So, although it didn’t meet many of the things you would expect from a park, the stunning city view and Gaudi house were reasons enough to love it.. Park Güell is generally crowded. As we leave the park, I can say that I saw a magnificent crowd when I looked around the park.. However, when we were in the park around 9:30 am on Wednesday, there were only a few tourists and we took beautiful pictures without the tourists in our photo frames.. However, if you go in the afternoon or around 11 am, you can be sure that you will not be able to take a decent photo.
Just after Park Güell, we were going to Parc de la Ciutadella, another popular park in Barcelona.. However, going here from Park Güell was quite unreasonable.. We came to the park by transfer and the journey took an average of 40 minutes.. So, if you want to visit Parc de la Ciutadella, it would make sense to visit this park after your visit to the Barri Gotic area, La Rambla or Passeig de Gracia, both for a shorter journey and easier to find the park.. We lingered for 3-4 hours in Parc de la Ciutadella, as we thought there was not much to see.. We rented very old and unhealthy boats in the park, and after taking a half-hour tour in the lake in the park, we ended our tour to explore the park.
This park, called Ciutadella, is one of your favorite places in Barcelona, I think. will be. You can also take a look at the Three Dragons Castle and the small museums next to the park.. Or, you can take a long walk through the park and relax on one of the hundreds of benches in the park.. The monument called Arc de Triomf, located just at the exit of the park, has become a symbol of the park.. Don’t forget to take a few photos around this monument, which will definitely catch your attention when entering or leaving the park.
We were a little tired and exhausted for the last place we wanted to visit, the Nou Camp Stadium.. That’s why we made our visit to this stadium 5. we left it to the day, to our last day in Barcelona. At the stadium we went in the afternoon, there was not much crowd and our visit to the stadium was quite easy and fun.. However, even though it didn’t mean much that the stadium was empty, we still found solace by saying “We saw the Nou Camp too”.. If you want to watch a match at the stadium, ticket prices start from £150 on average.
After the Nou Camp Stadium, we completed our Barcelona tour by waiting for our flight time in the park just across the Sagrada Familia Church..
