If we were to ask someone who is considering visiting Europe for the first time, the three cities they would most like to visit, I think one of them would be Amsterdam The cheeses of the Netherlands Amsterdam, the city famous for its bicycles, tulips and museums, is also known as the entertainment capital of Europe, or in other words, the city of sins, with the legality of light drugs (marijuana) and sexual intercourse for money.. In my Amsterdam holiday prices article about the city, where everyone can definitely find something for themselves and must see at least once in their life, I will provide information on museum tickets, coffee shop and weed cigarette prices, transportation and accommodation fees.
First, I am attaching the graph of what we spent during a 2-night 3-day trip to Amsterdam in 2017, excluding airfare, changing currency In order not to lose the validity of the text due to the exchange rates, I left the expenses in Euro without converting them to any currency.. The reason why I did not include the flight ticket is that the price of the Amsterdam flight ticket can be very different for everyone due to reasons such as campaign periods, but in general, I think it will be in the range of 100 – 250 Euros per person and you add it to it.
Cafes, food and beverage prices, bus and train ticket or entrance fees may increase slightly, but the overall picture will not change, at least for the next few years.. I will explain the details of each category in the chart below.. Depending on what I will tell you, you can calculate your own travel budget by calculating whether you will spend more or less.
Amsterdam Hotel Prices – Hotel Recommendations
Let’s start here since it is the part that will bore you the most. As you can see in the graphic, we poured a considerable amount of money here even though it was only two nights (210 Euros). Did we stay in a luxury hotel, although the price shouts ‘I think so’, unfortunately it is not; we just didn’t get our hands on it fast enough and cheap hotels were taken. Since we went as a couple, we did not want to stay in a more affordable dormitory (hostel) room, we did not want to stay away from the center and waste time on the way, since we had little time, we did not want hotels with a customer evaluation score of 5-6 anyway, and as a result, we paid 105 Euros per night.. Our next visit was worse, 150 euros per night. I won’t go further to Amsterdam
In short, finding cheap flight tickets to Amsterdam may not be enough for you to have a cheap holiday, and hotel prices are extremely high due to the popularity of the city.. Try to be as close to Dam Square and Central Station as you can, and read hotel reviews and make sure you don’t stay in a place with mice and bugs (I’ve read in the reviews of many hotels that there are intruders because the buildings are old). For example, this hotel we stayed in was right in Dam Square and it was clean, you can try it if there is space.. Amsterdam Nightlife – Coffee Shop – Entertainment Prices
Let me continue with the entertainment section, which has the largest share in our budget after the hotel (135 Euros). Now, when I wrote this price, it was like “Wow, friend, what fun did you have in three days, hit it, let it play,” but the truth is not like that AMSTERDAM RED LIGHT STREET & LIVE SEX THEATER As I explained in my article, two people have already given 90 Euros to the live theater Casa Rosso.. I won’t go into details again, but I think it was worth the money as it’s something you can’t see everywhere.
Amsterdam as a single Men on vacation can spend a similar amount on women in Red Light Street for sex in one go.. If you say “I don’t pay to have sex, but live theater is very expensive”, there is something called Peep Show. You put 2 Euros in the machine for 2 minutes and watch the live show through the window and the window closes when your time is up.. It’s very ridiculous (as if the others were very logical ) but you can throw 2 Euros and see what it is, if you like, you can continue to pay and extend the time.. If you’re not interested in live sex theater or the women in the Red Light District, well, that money’s in your pocket.
If we look for coffee shop prices in Amsterdam or weed (marijuana) cigarette prices, if you don’t smoke like us, I think it’s available in the shop you should prefer wrapped cigarettes, if you try to buy the weed and wrapping paper separately and try to wrap them, you can get them on your face.. And the pre-wrapped ones are one-time only, so you have a chance to try another variety for the next one.. However, if you buy ivy -although it depends on the amount you will take- you smoke the same until that amount is used up.. Anyway, when you go to the case of whether I should wrap it myself or not, you can decide by talking to the sales person in the shop or something, these cigarettes are called joints, by the way.
Cigarettes for pre-wrapped joints The price ranges from 6 to 8.5 Euros, the ones with the strongest effect, called pure joint, are on the upper side of this price range.. Varieties such as super haze, strawberry haze, silver haze, which have the word ‘haze’ at the end of their name, mood booster herbs called ‘sativa’ and those who think ‘let me be wonderful’ generally prefer these.. Of course you don’t, don’t even go near the shops that sell these poisonous stuff, but this is how I am giving information as a blogger person (public ad).
I’ve been to everywhere on the most famous coffee shops lists and I’ve never seen more expensive marijuana. If you say “don’t try if you’re not sure you can handle it” above, but still buy it in grams and wrap it myself, I think it will be a little cheaper, you can decide by talking to the salesperson how many grams you need according to how many people you are and how much you want to try.. The price of 1 gram of marijuana varies between 10 – 15 Euros.
Herb cake for those who can’t smoke a cigarette or who want to get hung up on the ‘sweet way’ space cake price similar, around 7 – 8 Euros. If you prefer this zigkım, ask how you will consume it and do not swallow it all because “Oh, this tastes good”, a friend of ours acted carelessly and then got a little trouble (a friend’s school )
Lastly, you may have thought of mushroom prices, referred to as magic mushrooms.. Mushroom no longer exists but its sister truffles are on sale. The recommended amount for two people is 20 grams and the price is around 20 Euros.
Amsterdam Museum Prices
What I mentioned in the chart as touristic expenses In the section, I specified the places visited by purchasing tickets (90 Euros). The expenditures you will make in this section depend entirely on your tastes, if you say, “I will only visit cafes and channels, and nothing with an entrance fee interests me”, the ticket prices can be completely reset for you, but it is not recommended.
We’re not really museum lovers either, since I made the trip I shared during the tulip season, we had already paid 58 Euros as the entrance fee to the Keukenhof Tulip Garden plus the entrance fee to the gardens.. The rest was the Heineken Museum entrance fee.. If you are going to Amsterdam in March – April – May, it would be nice to make a similar expense yourself, you will find all the information you are looking for in my NETHERLANDS TULIP GARDENS article.
If you’re happy that “I’m not going in tulip season, then this money will be in my pocket”, let me tell you right away may not be. For example, we went to the Rijksmuseum (35 Euros for two) and the Erotic Museum (EUR 14 for two) on the next Amsterdam holiday in October, and the sum of the two was again similar to the tulip gardens cost.
Those who find museums boring and don’t mind paying for museum tickets can try the very famous Heineken Museum called Heineken Experience, the entrance fee of 18 Euros includes two beers (or soft drinks). The ticket option, which is a different combined idea with the canal tour, was 30 Euros, we bought it from the regular ticket.. If you decide to go, buy the tickets online, there is a queue at the door – like everywhere else in Amsterdam -. Click for the Heineken Experience website.
My advice to those who think “I would like to visit museums, but they are too expensive”, that is, those who want to choose only one museum Rijksmuseum. The ticket price of the Rijks Museum is 17.50 Euros, I bought the ticket there when I went and luckily there was no queue, but if you want to secure your job, you can get your ticket from the website.. Van Gogh Museum (Van Gogh Museum) and Rembrandt House Museum (Rembrandt House Museum) are the other most popular museums but I(can’t) go into them.
More than one museum If you are going to travel and use public transportation a lot, you may find it useful to get the IAmsterdam Card, which we can call Müzekart plus akbil. If this is the case, you will definitely have a very busy day to pay for the card, which is 59 Euros even for 24 hours What is IAmsterdam Card and where is it used? You can check the website for.
Airport transportation and Anne Frank House Museum, one of the most popular places in Amsterdam, are not covered by the IAmsterdam Card.. The Anne Frank Museum ticket is 10 Euros and tickets can only be purchased from the website.. I thought I’d enter out of curiosity, but when I went to his door and tried to buy tickets online from the phone, he could only give tickets to a very advanced hour, so I gave up.. Don’t do that, and if you intend, plan and buy your ticket online in advance.
Madame Tussauds Museum in Amsterdam may be of interest if you have not been to any of the wax museums before. and I went years ago too, but I don’t recommend it if you have less than 3-4 days in Amsterdam; it would be a better choice if you live the city. If you say “No, I will go anyway”, ticket prices start around 20 Euros and they have options to combine with other attractions. We stated that it would be good if you entered at least one. We said the Heineken Museum is good and we also said that if you come across the season, it would be nice to buy a ticket to the Keukenhof tulip garden.. There are some places with an entrance fee that I will talk about in this section, which are museums that can be visited for deer purposes such as the Sex Museum, Erotic Museum, Marijuana Museum that emerged in accordance with the ‘city of sins’ concept of Amsterdam.
Years ago, on my first trip to Amsterdam, I went to the Sex Museum and found it fun, so I thought I’d go to the Erotic Museum this time.. The entrance fee was 7 Euros, which I think is a funny experience as it is not everywhere like a live sex theatre.. Tickets for such small museums are generally in this area, I think you can come across it on the road and enter what you are curious about.
Amsterdam Food and Beverage Prices
What to eat in Amsterdam is very simple; french fries, slice pizza, sandwich, waffle, pancake, french fries, slice pizza, sandwich.. (sorry healthy food lovers ) Of course, you can find whatever you want because cafes and restaurants are full of places, but these are the cheapest and most delicious options.
As for the prices, pizza by the slice, we can think of sandwiches and french fries as the same; Between 3 – 4 Euros. French fries are served in paper cones and you can add sauces such as ketchup mayonnaise and fried onions on it.. Waffles around 5 Euros. If you want to sit in the restaurant instead of fast food, we can say that an average plate of food plus a drink is around 15 Euros per person.
As for drinks, coffees are around 3 Euros.. Beer prices are also on the general European average, like 4 Euros.. But if you are going to sit in coffee shops and drink marijuana, you should not drink alcohol, so it would be good for those who want to try herbs not to drink beer and other alcohol.
Because we have no problem eating junk food with my wife. We sat at the restaurant only once in 3 days to have a decent meal.. Since breakfast is also included in the price of the hotel and we are not a ‘can’t stop drinking coffee’ person, we spent 61 Euros by closing the issue of eating and drinking cheap.
Amsterdam Transportation Prices – Train and Bus Tickets
Amsterdam has only one airport and its name is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS).
The most common way to go from Schiphol Airport to the city center (city center = Amsterdam Central Station) is by train and the train ticket is around 5.5 Euros. I say around because we bought it from the machine with a credit card and paid 10.90 Euros for two people.. Although there are ticket scanners at the entrance, you can pass without scanning as there is no turnstile or someone checking in, but I don’t know what will happen if you are caught without a ticket.. You’ll probably pay a fine of around 60 Euros (which is the case in Germany).
The ticket issue in city transportation is a bit confusing or I couldn’t quite figure it out.. Here’s what I understand: When you get on the tram, there is a ticket holder sitting in it and makes sure you have your ticket scanned in the machine (or so was the case with us). There is no such person in buses, and it operates on a ‘trust basis’ similar to the one on the train.. The ticket price is close to 3 Euros and you can transfer free of charge within a certain period of time (I think half an hour).
With the IAmsterdam Card, which I mentioned in the museums section, local transportation is free.. If you are going to use public transportation a lot, daily or weekly cards and our Akbil-like OV Chipcard may also be useful for you, I recommend you to consult tourist information offices.. Since we also like to stay in the central place and walk, one-time tickets were advantageous for us.
While you’re in Amsterdam, stop by the beautiful nearby villages/towns like Volendam and Zaanse Schans. How to get from Amsterdam to Volendam my answer is bus, you buy the ticket from Amsterdam Centraal (Central Station). Round trip bus price is 10 Euros. You have to read the ticket while getting on the bus, the principle of trust does not apply here
Transportation between Amsterdam and Zaanse Schans village can be obtained in a similar way, I think it is a little cheaper. We drove him on our next trip to Amsterdam, so it’s not included in the transportation expense in the chart.. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get any cheaper if you do, because long live the tourist pile and the welcome 10 Euro parking fee.
Anyway, I think only one of these towns can fit in a 3-day trip to Amsterdam, so we can say that you will pay 20 Euros for these transportations for two people.. The last item of transportation expenditure of 56 Euros outside of the airport city center transportation, city transportation and Volendam was renting a bike for us.. We rented a bike for 10 Euros per person to visit the tulip fields, a similar thing can be done for touring around the city.. This fee will be out of pocket for guarantee friends who say, “I can’t ride a bike where I don’t know”.
Shopping in Amsterdam – Dutch Cheese Prices
Those who follow my articles know that I am backpacking and do not shop much during my trips.. In Amsterdam, unlike other destinations, we spent some money on shopping (27 Euros) since we have a cheese reality.
