Ali Rock

I came across one of Turkey’s most beautiful natural formations, Ali Kayası in Maraş. I went to Maraş without any expectations. In other words, what could happen in a city whose name we heard only from history books? While Antep has Zeugma, Urfa has Balıklıgöl, what can you name the famous Maraş? When I arrived in the city, I just felt that I was in an Anatolian city. I’m always very interested. They talked about a place called Ali Kayası and even showed their photos.. I said are you kidding me.

Anyway, we got on the minibus and went.. We passed over mountains, hills, slopes, rivers.. We came to the places where the phone does not pull and the wheel does not turn. We started walking on a very comfortable and pleasant route.. As the surroundings began to get better, the birds chirped, and the soil under my feet began to soften with every step, I began to move away from the heated discussions in the trekking group and not listen to what was being said.. As I tried to take a picture of the blue of the Menzelet dam that could be seen between the two branches of every rock, bird, and insect I saw, I fell behind.. As I fell back, the energy inside me calmed down. When I was left behind the aftershock for a while, the scenery took me under the influence of medusa.. I couldn’t take my eyes off the shade of blue. When the aftershock came and poked me, I realized I was way behind the group. However, it is not my habit to be left behind.

When we arrived at Ali Kayası at a leisurely pace, enjoying nature, I fell flat like in cartoons.. I’ve never been but from what I saw from the photos it looked like the Norwegian fjords. It is not a place that can be described by telling. I felt like I was going to die from happiness because I saw the scenery on the top of the rocks, but also from sadness because I couldn’t jump into that water.

Ali Kayası is one of the unknown and hidden beauties of Maraş.. We discovered through Kadak. Available for wild camping. There are trekking routes of different difficulty levels, but they are not marked like a Lycian road or have no guide.. Therefore, if you want to go, it would be useful to contact a mountaineering club, or if you say that nothing will happen to me, you are experienced, open google map and go.. The choice is yours..

Foot note: I can’t remember which one came from whom, since there is a lot of photo sharing within the team.. so a thousand thanks to everyone..
