Even though it is February, the sky is sparkling and I missed the sun that warms my heart so much that we said this is the opportunity and threw ourselves out.. While the weekend crowd was not out yet, we got on the ferry accompanied by the seagulls and went to Kadıköy.. Destination: Çengelköy. Destination: Of course, warm pastries 🙂
We stopped by Çengelköy Börekçisi, our first stop for breakfast. Whenever we come here, there is always a queue.. I haven’t come across an empty one yet.. We queue up without complaining, and when there is a delicious and delicious pastry at the end, the water stops flowing at me 🙂 Fortunately, the line moves quickly, we take our meat and cheese pastries and go to the Historic Çınaraltı Family Tea Garden right next to it.
Historical Çınaraltı Family Tea Garden is a place where you can get plenty of sea air and enjoy the view of the bridge and the Bosphorus. The history of the plane tree dates back to the 1200s, even before the Ottoman Empire.. The sycamore tree, which is approximately 800 years old, is also the symbol of Çengelköy with its majestic appearance.

p class=”p1″>If you come to Çınaraltı Tea Garden early in the morning, you can find a place by the sea.. You can bring and eat any food you want from outside here, only drinks are prohibited.. We add bagels, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers, which are indispensable for breakfast, next to our crispy pastries.. Two teas with it, don’t make it worth our pleasure… For those who say they can’t deal with bringing them from outside, breakfast plate, toast, menemen, omelette etc.. options are also available. Since it is a shabby place, the prices are also quite reasonable.
After we’ve had our fill, it’s time to wander around the alleys of Çengelköy.. It is quite enjoyable to wander through the streets of Çengelköy, which gives the impression that you are traveling in time while walking among the historical wooden houses.. Although Havuzbaşı Hill is a bit difficult, you can take a breather in the park surrounded by greenery next to it.
While I am wandering the streets of Çengelköy, Çaycı İzzet Efendi comes across. When I say tea, I want to go in and try it because the flowing water stops.. As soon as we enter, the smell of tea surrounds us.. There are only four or five tables inside, it’s a small but cozy place.. If you like to enjoy yourself alone, you can choose a book from the shelves and start mixing the pages with your tea.
My choice was Istanbul blend in the place where there is a rich selection of tea.. I loved both the smell and the taste.. The price of a teapot for two at Çaycı İzzet Efendi is 24 TL. There are four cups of tea in total.. It was very kind of them to offer us a slice of cake while drinking our tea with pleasure.. If you like to try different flavors of tea, you should definitely stop by.. You can easily find it when you enter Kerime Hatun Mosque Street.
If you say authentic environments are your true self, you can find the Muzelik right next to Çaycı İzzet Efendi. i am sure you will love it. The place, which impresses with its decoration, makes you feel like you are in an antique shop.. Although we can’t try their food this time because we have a full stomach, I’m adding it to my list to stop by again as soon as possible…
We are now ready for a long walk.. While walking from the coast line to Kandilli, we see the 171-year-old Kuleli Military High School.. This century-old school, which came from the Ottoman Empire to the present day, provided the education of thousands of commanders as well as valuable artists, poets and scientists.. The school, which was opened in 1845, was closed together with all other military high schools with the Decree-Law issued in 2016 under the state of emergency.. It’s hard not to feel sad when you see the school where the dead silence reigns…
After walking for about 1 hour from Kandilli to Anadolu Hisarı, we stopped for a coffee break. we deserved. Oh, and if we always walk, even if we think about pedestrians in Istanbul.. It is a sad fact of our country that we feel uneasy while walking because of the cars whizzing by on the roads where there is not even a pavement in most places.
Our choice in Hisar was Big Chefs. Balcony part was closed because it was winter season. Even inside, sitting by the sea and having a drink is one of my little sources of happiness.. The venue is quite large like other Big Chefs’s, but finding a place can be a bit of a hassle since it’s brunch on the weekend.
Yıldırım Beyazıt in 1395 Anadolu Hisarı is located at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus.. The historical castle built to control the Bosphorus is quite small compared to Rumeli Fortress.
Our next target after Anadoluhisarı is delicious Kanlıca yogurt
strong> eat. We sit in the seafront place right next to the pier and order two yogurts.. I ate powdered sugar when I came last time. Now I prefer honey yogurt.. It’s something you can easily do at home.. But the taste of yoghurt eaten here is different, and when it is combined with honey, I would ask for another one if I didn’t hesitate 🙂
Breakfast in Çengelköy in the morning Our walking tour, which we started with, ended with the pleasure of yogurt in Kanlıca in the evening.. According to my calculations, we walked about 8 km.. It’s always best to explore on foot…
