A Far Eastern Phenomenon: Thailand Travel Guide

Thailand Travel Guide and Places to Visit in Thailand

A Far East Phenomenon We didn’t know where to start in Thailand; We wrote and we wrote, the pages got longer and longer, we would bore the people if we published it like this, we thought it would be best to publish them in a few articles.. First post in this series:
Preparations before going to Thailand:

‘Man’s Thailand‘Taking his wife to Munich is like taking a beer to Munich,’ says J.Grange in his book Empire of the Wolves. We believed in this and we made our first Far East trip to Thailand without going into the marriage part

Generally, when you go to a country with great expectations, you return with disappointment.. Before we started our trip to Thailand, we were both enthusiastic and worried that it had become extremely popular in recent years, whether it tasted like zucchini or if we missed the time.. But bingo did not have a single city that we did not like during the trip, and it also managed to exceed our expectations! What we can say is that our score for Thailand is quite high!

Before we write down the cities, let’s talk about Thailand roughly;

Is Thailand cheap? Cheap. But is it too cheap? No. We’re sure it was very cheap 10 years ago when it wasn’t that popular and not so many airline companies.. In recent years, it has become quite expensive due to the fact that it has been ‘overrated’.. The good side is that there are many cheap food, beverage and accommodation alternatives for backpackers or those who want to travel on a lower budget.. What else should it do?

When choosing a hotel for accommodation, you can compare hotel prices from hotels.com and booking.com and choose the cheapest one directly.. If you are not lazy, go to the website of the hotel you have decided to choose and check the price.. Many times, the price can be cheaper on the hotel’s own website, you can disable booking.com and make a reservation on the hotel’s own website in such a case.

When Buying a Flight Ticket from Turkey to Thailand

Flights from Istanbul to Thailand are cheap to expensive, many airline companies fly from Air Astana, Fly Dubai, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Turkish Airlines. We bought our flight tickets from Emirates for 450 euros per person, round trip Istanbul-Bangkok.. If you can choose your travel dates freely and catch the regular promotions of the Emiras-Etihad-Qatar trio, it is possible to find tickets for even 300 euros.. We didn’t have many options because we were working at that time and our leave dates were certain, and you can think of it as an expensive price with no promotion for 450 euros.. (Damn here, business life and the workers’ anthem come in.)

Which season is suitable for a trip to Thailand?

The best time to travel to Thailand is between November and April In this period, although the weather is warm, the precipitation is less.. But don’t worry if your travel date falls between April and October.. When it starts as what we call rain, think of it not as rains that last all day, but as a downpour that starts at a certain time every day, soaking you up to your frost in just 1 hour.. So if you come across the rainy season, you can get through those short rainy hours by taking shelter or taking a lunch break wherever you come across, it’s not the end of the world (We invite those who complain about Thailand’s rain to Frankfurt, it rained nonstop for 10 months when it started raining last.)

Electronics event in Thailand

Yes, electronics are really cheap. When you say cheap, don’t expect to get an iphone for half the price, but if you’re looking for spin-offs and parts, Thailand is the place to be.. Apart from the by-products, the cameras are just as cheap.. We can say that MBK Moll (MBK Shopping Center) in Bangkok is the best place to look for electronics.

Is a visa required for Thailand?

As you know, Thailand does not apply a visa to Turkey. You can easily get your 30-day visa by filling out a form at the airport.. But after the explosion in Thailand last year, which killed many people, they caused some difficulties for Turks to enter the country.. Just take the information of your return ticket with you, just in case.

Eating and drinking in Thailand

Eating and drinking in Thailand can be a pleasure for some of you and a torture for others If you like to try different things You’ll find everything from all kinds of deep-fried bugs to sea fish pulp.. If you want to try something less risky, you can try the spicy Thai noodles and rice dishes.. If your stomach can’t take any of these (in our family, it’s Asian on the female side) you can run to Burger King..

As it is very cheap to eat in the neighborhood markets, there is no eating at home in the Thai culture. It is possible to fill your stomach even for 1 USD outside.

We can list the flavors that you will come across in your neighborhood markets and that we have tried and liked as follows; Pad Thai (a kind of noodle, it may be the mistake of the century to return without trying it), Khao Pat (think of it as mixed rice pilaf), all kinds of curry chicken, and pitahaya (japanese kiwifruit), starfruit and rambutan from authentic fruits.. It’s up to you whether or not to try the famous ‘durian’ fruit.. Let’s just say, this fruit is banned from hotels in Indonesia because it smells too bad! but it tastes good. You can review the photos and take note of the ones you like

Tips for Thailand

* Don’t be surprised when you come across ‘ladyboys’ especially concentrated in Bangkok and Pattaya; Don’t say what is there to be surprised! The reason we say this is the most beautiful women you can see in Thailand. Most of the time they are fun and there are great Cabaret shows, but they will definitely ask for money after they approach you and take a picture.. The most popular of the shows in Bangkok, the Calypso Cabaret Show ticket costs around 30 usd, you can check it here.

* Taxis are VERY cheap if you turn on the meter.. Let’s put it this way, the average taxi in Turkey will cost 50 TL, in Bangkok it costs 5 TL.. But usually, taxi drivers ask you where you’re going and get a price before you turn on the meter.. You immediately accept the price (let’s say 25 TL) that the taxi driver tells you because it will still be cheap compared to Turkey.. But you don’t know that if you opened the taximeter, it would cost 5 TL.. (It was the last day of the holiday that we missed this part, it turns out we were screwed during the holiday).

* You will come across a lot of TukTuk, especially in Bangkok. These are the 3 wheels of the motorcycle you know.. Prices are more expensive than regular taxis, and tuktuk drivers drive by scissors like our minibus drivers.. You know, we saw a motorcycle with an open motorcycle and 2 people, even 3 people riding it. Do you count the taxi driver, 4 people, so naturally, security is zero! But you have a Turkish vein and you say that the death of the horse is from barley and you get on it.. It’s fun!

* Bargaining works great. Please feel free to do so.

* If there is anything cheaper than water in Thailand, it is Massage.. Well, you can get a massage while you’re gone! (Watch out for the sisters holding the Happy Massage paper in their hands, you know the main message there!)

If you are a diving enthusiast, the Smilan Islands and Koh Tao Island are ideal.

While drawing a Thailand Travel Route(To visit in Thailand) places)

Thailand is a very big geography. So the more time you have, the better.. Unfortunately, like many European cities, it doesn’t fit in a few days.

We planned our Thailand trip as 10 days excluding the road, and we allocated 4 days of this period to Bangkok, 1 day to Pattaya, and 5 days to Phuket and Krabi, which are famous for their extremely beautiful beaches.. Unfortunately, we have no time left for Chiang Mai, which stretches along the Ping River.. If you can spare two weeks for Thailand, Chiang Mai should also be named in the list of places to see.

Finally, you can travel from Bangkok to Phuket by using cheap airlines such as Asia Air and Thai Lion Air.. We paid an average of $40 for one way Bangkok-Phuket and remember that most tickets do not include the suitcase fee, you pay separately for the suitcase when you buy the ticket.. (Don’t expect an Emirates comfort, of course :))

If all these preparations are complete, you can proceed to the city guides.. Click it.
