Songkran comes from Sanskrit. The word means “New Year” and is the celebration of the Lunar New Year in Thailand.. During the Songkran period, which is the largest water festival in the world, thousands of people take to the streets to celebrate this crazy festival.
Every year on the 13th, 14th and 14th of April. 15. During the festival, which is celebrated for 3 days, all over the country is in turmoil.. In some parts of the country, the festival lasts up to 7 to 10 days instead of 3 days.
