Hobart has a population of 150,000 people. In other words, almost a third of Tasmania’s population lives in Hobart.

After Captain Cook came here in 1796, the French also wanted to settle in this region.. For this reason, the British quickly started colonial works here and turned this place into a colony.

Hobart is a very green city.. 20% forest. For this reason, it receives a lot of precipitation.. This makes the parks and gardens very beautiful and alive.. They protect nature very well. Tree felling, hunting and cultivation are strictly prohibited and the penalties are very severe.

After 17:00, life stops in Hobart.

Shops in Tasmania close at 17:00 in the evening.. You can’t find a place open after this time.. Make sure to fill your stomach until 17:00 in the evening.. After this time the night turns into the dead city. The only open restaurants are restaurants inside the hotels.

Hobart also has a famous Elizabeth street, but this street is not overflowing with shopping malls.. On this street, single or two-storey buildings are in the majority.. Some of these buildings are shops.. You don’t see many skyscrapers in the city anyway.

One of the things that caught our attention the most in Hobart was the various statues and seats made of metal.. These beautiful artistic and functional works are scattered on the streets from time to time.

The other thing that caught our attention is that some of the elegantly dressed women do not wear shoes and walk barefoot.

The people here are very friendly and helpful.. You can never bargain in shopping. We never came across street markets either.
