I am sure that we all have a common opinion in the process of obtaining a Schengen visa: You cannot get a European visa from Austria, friend! Because this country gives the tourist visa as 3 days if your trip is 3 days, it doesn’t even come close to the event that my heart broke for 4 days.. Did we eat your country my friend, we came, we toured, we came back. Well, if you ask why I got into the subject like this, in fact, since the main reason for our Vienna trip was based here.. Since we have a visa already, let’s squeeze Austria so that if we want to go tomorrow, we will not be able to get a long-term visa from this country, we said, let’s delete a city from our list.. What was the best part of the city on the list? Do you like Classical Music?
Let’s clarify the first question that comes to mind as “Which season to go to Vienna”. How nice is Europe in the heat of June?. In winter, we will always find cheap tickets, walk 20 km a day with a hundred layers of coats.. Turns out, Vienna, the city we chose for the summer, is already a country that is warmer than all its neighbors.
When we opened our eyes at the airport after a 2-hour flight, we had 4 bomb days ahead of us.. But 2,5 days of that is Budapest, Hungary! Let me definitely state that Budapest is a million times more beautiful than Vienna. we also lived. We toured, ate, drank, went to a classical music concert at Musikverein. We even went to Donauinselfest, Europe’s biggest open-air festival.
It’s already 3 hours by bus from Vienna to Budapest.. If you follow this route, don’t “How to Buy Bus Tickets in Europe” click here. You can buy your tickets on this site. Generally, transportation between cities or nearby countries in Europe is 10 – 20 Euros One Way. We made our transportation between Vienna and Budapest by bus with Flixbus for a total of 38 Euros for 2 people.. There were cheaper companies but it was going via Bratislava and increasing the journey time to 5 hours.. If you have more time, you can add Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, to your route.. We bought our tickets from Vienna airport to the Budapest Nepliget bus terminal, so that we could easily catch our direct flight from Vienna to Istanbul on the way back.
Vienna Schwechat easiest way to get from the airport to the city 2, Getting on the S7 line for 49 Euros. There is a high-speed train called CAT, it is expensive, don’t take it.
In city transportation in Vienna, we hit the bottom of our Turkishness, we embarrassed you a lot.. For God’s sake, big travel epi ball, what is it like to buy 2 subway tickets and then make every subway journey without a ticket / as a stowaway? These are always Umur’s adrenaline requests.. When you buy a ticket from the machines in the metro or trains, which is 8 euros per day, 2 euros for a single ride, if you do not get the machines at the entrance to read before you get on the metro and there is a check, you incur a penalty of 60 – 70 euros per person.. But there is no control in Vienna, let me tell you, but you don’t do it If it had happened and we had been fined, I would have shown it to ours..
We prefer our accommodation preference to the city center 15-20 minutes, we favored the Hotel Bellevue Wien, which is 1 minute away from the metro. We paid 200 Euros for 2 people for 2 nights including breakfast.
Places to Visit in Vienna
Starting from Westbahnhof train station to the city Walk along the street >Mariahilfer and find the Museimsquartier . After visiting the museums in the Museum Square and seeing the Rathaus and the Parliament Building, you will find yourself in the winter palace of the famous Austrian dynasty King Franz Joseph and his wife Elizabeth (Sisi). Take it to the Hofburg Palace.
Visit the Austrian version of our Hürrem SultanSisi’s Museum. The lady was both melancholic and anorexia. He’s not good at lobbying, so he’s always been best friends with other dynasties.. One day, a knife was stuck in our fancy curler, Sisi, and he just died.. Before you go, research Sisi again so that it makes more sense while visiting the museum where her belongings are exhibited.
Make sure to go to Demel Cafe’ on
Kohlmarkt Street.. We paid a total of 13 Euros for Melange coffee, vanillecremeschnitte cake and apfelstrudel apple cake in Demel.
After leaving Demel, go to see the Plague Monument on Graben Street. The plague monument was built as a sign of gratitude after the plague left the city.
Then rest at Cafe Hawelka and make sure to examine the ceiling here. Take the route to St.Stephan’s Cathedral, and when you’re hungry, eat schnitzel at Wollzeile Figlmüller.
As for the list of things we’ve been told the most about Figlmüller; There are much better schnitzels, make a reservation, the portions are very large, order one for two people.. Indeed, it all turned out to be true.. We LOVED the potato salad here and ate 2 servings. We paid a total of 32 Euros for our schnitzel and wine.
If you have time, you can also visit one of the Belvedere and Schönbrunn palaces.. Since the Schönbrunn palace is a summer residence, transportation is provided by metro, a little bit outside the city. There are short and long tours to visit. If you take a long tour, you see the famous Maria Theresia’s room. This older sister gave birth to 16 children and gave birth to all of them, and one of her children was Maria Antoinette.. You know the legend of the French Revolution that said “if they can’t find bread, let them eat cake”.
We got off at the Hetzgasse stop and went to see Hundertwasser Haus. While this colorful house was a social residence built for low-income people at the time, it changed when the artist named Hundertwasser touched it.
Freud’s House, which is close to our hotel, is on the list of places to visit in Vienna.
Before going to the Evening Opera or a Classical Music concert at Musikverein, first go to Karl’s Church.
Who Wants to Go to a Classical Music Concert in Vienna?
It is impossible not to listen to classical music when you come to Mozart’s city! You basically have two choices as an artistic activity in Vienna.. The first one is Opera, which I think can be enjoyed on the condition that it is more understandable, and the other is the classical music concert, where they should play it, it’s nice. It’s a wonderful experience to listen. By escaping to the cheapest ticket, we bought a ticket to the Wiener Mozart Orchestra for 50 Euros per person and now I have a great experience.. In my Vienna Vlog, which I can’t wait to put on my Youtube channel, I will take you to that golden hall.. You can click here for ticket and program information.
After a full trip to Vienna, we turned our route to Budapest, which we did not know would be our favorite city in Europe yet.. His memories will be around soon anyway.
Story I didn’t understand this place.. There was a problem with the bus.. I welcome all your questions and comments, such as was the hotel like this, in the comments section.
